Make friends with artists. Learn about their wild ideas. Ask them about their process, not the performance. Look beneath the surface and into their cracks and discover what cracks them open. AND, what in you cracks open when you get to be with them. They will make your life richer, I promise you that. Full from so many wonderful artist friends making BIG art in the world- -a friend who worked on the new film, Wildwood for 6+ years, and seeing the detail that he and so many artisans gave to it. -another friend, opening a play tonight, my heart is with her tonight as she walks onto the boards. -a company I love remounting a breakdancing show about the history of breakdancing in Portland, run to see it! -Table 17 at the Playhouse, a play that will make you laugh and smile directed with nuance. -walks and talks in the fall leaves with a dear friend telling me about her next book & all the big life questions. -another friend closing a big hilarious show this weekend, and how lucky we are to have two dates together next week! -another friend starring in Lizzie, and reveling in her transformation from Mary Poppins to Lizzie! -another dear friend who’s played the Hollywood Bowl is learning to sew and making her own clothes! -and little me pondering the next show, while crying over the show I lost, and what it all means to keep going, to keep playing… Continually amazed at how much art can change my mood, my opinion, MY LIFE. This is your reminder to go see something, listen to someone, support a wild idea, and allow yourself to be changed. #makeart #play #art
