Every studio has a 📘story that is shaped by teachers dedicated to the work, communities built around the method, and spaces created for the practice of Classical Pilates. ✅

Our Gratz-Equipped ✨Studio Tour series ✨ has taken us inside studios around the 🌎 world to share the people, spaces, and stories carrying the Classical Pilates tradition forward.

From the journeys that led each owner to open their doors to the 🙌 Gratz apparatus they chose for their studios, each reflects a distinct connection to the method.

🌴Meet Britt, owner of The Cheeky Pilates🌴After spending a decade in education, Britt found herself teaching special education full-time while leading Pilates classes in the evenings. Although she loved both, the burnout became impossible to ignore. She knew she wanted to dedicate herself fully to teaching Classical Pilates.

When she and her partner purchased their home, they brought that vision to life by building a custom backyard studio, completed in October 2025. A true labor of love, the space was intentionally designed to create a more personal experience for every client.

“I enjoy the intimacy of having clients at my home. The conversations before and after lessons feel genuine and less transactional, which helps build trust and a sense of belonging. My goal is to create a warm and safe environment where I can share the Classical work and help others feel their best.”

Classical Pilates has transformed Britt’s own life and continues to shape the way she teaches.

“My body and mind feel most aligned when practicing the order of exercises that Classical provides. I am passionate about preserving Joseph Pilates’ Method because it’s something that has changed my life, and I truly believe in it.”

If you’re in the San Diego area, be sure to visit The Cheeky Pilates🌞

had the absolute most fulfilling time at @music.citymovesme this past weekend 🤠

had no idea what to expect since it was my first conference, but i met so many amazing fellow teachers and studio owners and had the opportunity to learn from teachers who have shaped my practice more than they know

it was so inspiring and gratifying to be around so many people who are just hungry to learn as much as possible. it's easy to get into your own little bubble with what you do and it was also a reminder of just how much we have to learn from each other as peers, outside of the teacher/student dichotomy

im happy to be home but counting down the days till we get to do it again next year

✨March Apparatus of the Month✨

The Gratz community celebrated March Matness with a return to the Mat.

Working from within, the focus stayed on controlled movement and the connection between the mind and body.

Through the Classical Mat order, the work became clearer: how it’s organized, how it builds, and how it carries forward.

Thank you for celebrating March Matness with us!👏🏼

Britt Holland, Classical Pilates instructor and owner of @thecheekypilates, reflects on Contrology and what can get lost in a trend-driven fitness world.

As Pilates continues to evolve, it becomes less clear what the work actually is. Contrology offers a system, rooted in order and progression, that isn’t meant to be constantly reimagined, but returned to.

Growth is not found in reinvention, but in refinement over time.
