The Classical Collab 2026 @theclassicalcollab
- First, Light

Title: Liminal

Choreographer: Bruce Bohao Feng
Performer: Bruce Bohao Feng
Music: Ólafur Arnalds – Undan Hulu @olafurarnalds

Liminal explores movement as a form of mark-making, where the body becomes both the tool and the trace of expression. Situated within an in-between state, the work navigates transitions between control and release, presence and absence, stillness and motion.

Through shifting relationships with time, space, and intention, the choreography investigates how meaning emerges not from fixed forms, but from the continuous process of becoming. A liminal space where movement is not only performed, but inscribed — leaving ephemeral traces that dissolve as they appear.

Chapter VII — After the Storm

The stillness at the end is not the end at all.
It is the moment I hear myself breathing again—
still loving, still enduring, still becoming.

Chapter VI — Reaching

I reach upward not because I am without fear,
but because I still believe
that light answers those who keep trying.

Chapter V — Holding Myself Together

In the chaos of life,
dance has become the way I gather myself again.
Every gesture is a response,
every movement a quiet act of rebuilding.

Chapter IV — Softness as Strength

I used to believe that strength had to be sharp and hard.
Now I know that softness, too, can carry a person through darkness.

Chapter III — In the Light

When the light touched my body,
I saw my vulnerability—
but I also saw the strength that keeps me rising.

Chapter II — The Turning Point

Some turns are not made to leave the world behind,
but to hear the voice within more clearly.
