“When we got here, we came with ideas about changing things, but this place changed us.” - JP Bryan

We thank the Marathon community, Mr. Bryan and Texas Land Commissioner, Dawn Buckingham, for advocating against a physical barrier in the Big Bend region last night.

We will always continue our efforts to preserve and protect the Big Bend.

This year was about overcoming challenges and real growth.

Our family grew with the arrival of the sweetest little soul, and I grew in ways that truly mattered, clearer in my mind, more grounded, and more grateful for the life we’re building. I traveled to new places, met incredible people, and shared unforgettable hunts that will stay with me forever. Through every mile and every moment, welcoming our second daughter brought everything into focus and reminded me what matters most.

Chase time…not status.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with blessings, growth, and gratitude.

The West Texas desert has a way of pulling you in.

PREMIERING December 18th at 7PM CST on the @huntstand YouTube channel.

In Desert Ghost, @willtcooper heads west to Marathon, Texas with longtime friend and mentor @thecodyroberts to hunt aoudad in one of the most remote landscapes in the state. Rooted in family legacy, this film explores Cody’s deep ties to the desert, the story behind @desertghostdistilling , and the mystique of a western oasis near Big Bend National Park.

More than a hunt, Desert Ghost dives into the role of aoudad management and its importance to Desert Bighorn sheep conservation efforts led by Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Wild Sheep Foundation.

Sometimes, to protect what belongs here — you have to chase the ghosts.

You really do have to be tough, determined, or one lucky bastard to make it out in West Texas.
