Is the Fabric Weekend right for you?

Sling (Sat, Nov 14): open to everyone, beginner through advanced.
Silks (Sat evening – Mon, Nov 14–16): you should be comfortable climbing and putting on single and double footlocks in the air. Inverting is a plus, not a requirement.

Bringing a non-aerial partner? They can share your room and meals. Comment SILKS and I’ll send you the details.

This weekend was supposed to be our very first fabric retreat. Hurricane Isaias had other plans. Two inches of rain and 15 mph winds are no place for silks on the dock — so we’ve moved the Fabric Weekend to November 14–16.

The silver lining? Now there’s room for you. Sling with NataLyra Sparks on Saturday, then Aerial Silks with Colleen Sands from Saturday evening through Monday, building toward a routine you can take home on film.

And since Isaias owes us one: 10% off through October 17. Link in bio.

A quick gut-check before you register: Sling is open to level 1 through advanced — @natalyrasparks will tailor the day to whoever’s in the room. @thecolleensands asks a bit more in silks: you should be comfortable climbing and putting on single & double footlocks in the air (inverting is a plus, not required). Full details in the registration packet — DM us with questions. #AerialPrerequisites #AerialSilks #AerialSling #KnowBeforeYouGo

And for the other half of the weekend — aerial silks. Two long panels of fabric, endless ways to wrap, drop, and fly. Starting Saturday evening, @thecolleensands leads a full arc through Monday morning, building toward a routine you’ll actually get to film and keep.

What a beautiful day representing Pura Vida Studio at Cary Magazine’s Women of Western Wake event! 🤍✨

Our studio owner, @alicia.calderwood, looks forward to this event every year, and this year was extra special because, for the first time, Pura Vida had the opportunity to be an event sponsor!

Alicia was joined by some of our incredible yoga and aerial teachers to represent Pura Vida and spend the day learning, connecting, and being inspired together.

We heard from an inspiring panel of women leading businesses throughout Western Wake as they shared their experiences taking chances and navigating challenges and growth. We also attended educational workshops and kicked off the morning with a meaningful breakfast session centered around betting on yourself, having the courage to take chances even when you don’t know exactly where they’ll lead, and knowing your own limits while staying true to yourself.

So much of what was shared reflects how Alicia strives to lead Pura Vida: leading by example, continuing to learn, empowering those around her, and creating a culture where people feel supported and encouraged to grow. 💕

We left feeling inspired, connected, and grateful to have experienced the day together as a team outside of the studio.

Thank you, @carymagazinenc, for creating such a meaningful event and for having Pura Vida Studio as a proud first-time sponsor this year! ✨

Something new is rising at the lake — literally. This October, Anapausis is hosting its first retreat built around fabric: Sling with @natalyrasparks on Saturday, and a full Aerial Silks arc with @thecolleensands running from Saturday evening through Monday morning, building toward a routine you’ll get to film and keep. Two apparatuses, one weekend, Lake Gaston. Email in bio for details.

Big news from the lake — we’re opening a second full retreat weekend! With Labor Day looking clear, our reserved backup weekend, September 12–13, is now open as its own full retreat with instructor NataLyra Sparks. Same intermediate lyra program, same full weekend of coaching, community, and time on the water. Full Weekend, Partner, and Day Pass packages are all available — this is a real second chance if you missed a room for Sept 5–6. Optional Friday evening arrival, optional Monday morning add-on before you head home. Full details and registration in bio, or DM us with questions.

Sometimes the lake asks for a tail. Not every session has to be about drilling skills — some of it is just play, costume, and a little bit of magic over the water. That’s part of this too.
