Esther Hiʻilani Candari @estherhcandari did all the illustrations for Isles of the Emberdark by @brandsanderson I had the amazing opportunity to view the original pieces and see all the hard work and talent that went into the story. Esther has also become one of my most favorite artists and owns my favorite gallery! I hope to see more of her art at Dragonsteel Nexus 2026 this year!!

While I was in Utah, I had a truly enjoyable opportunity to sit down for tea with Esther Candari and Alondra Uhi for Epidode 7 of their new podcast Tapestry TeaTime on YouTube. The first six episodes are so worth listening to! Give it a listen. If you are short on time right now, listen to Crystal DeSpain on Episode 6. She has some amazing insights that I find myself trying to emulate. And then you come back for my Episode 7.
