“If You Want Perfection” from Death Becomes Her performed at the Broadway Dreams NC Showcase
🧪💄😈

One of my favorite numbers from this show choreographed/staged by the exceptional @warrenegypt with music direction by the brilliant @jason_goldston 👏🏾 It really was an honor to be in their presence along with the other incredible industry professionals involved in Broadway Dreams soaking in as much knowledge as I could 🙏🏾 with no formal training or education in musical theatre performance I think I did alright in this intensive and would for sure do it again in a heartbeat 😊 Theatre magic really is my favorite kind of ✨magic✨

The Cozy Experience Year Nine part 2.

TLDR - things sorta fell apart during this era

While I was having a great time doing events throughout part one of year nine, the increased focus on community building and social events greatly decreased my level of physical creative output

The level I was operating #thecozyexperience on for part one of year nine was simply not sustainable.

I missed my friends. I wanted to find ways to bring them into my increasingly creative world.
However I eventually found myself learning more lessons than the ones listed about what happens when you mix your creative world with friends:

1. No one cares as much as you do about your craft ❌
2. You can go out of your way to make something as clear as possible and people still won't read 📚
3. You have to trust that you know what looks good. (so many missed opportunities because I didn't force my vision in its entirety often in the last crucial hours) 💭
4. I'm not a whole team (an exceptionally hard lesson for a Gemini) 👯
5. Putting together an entire ticketed show from scratch from finding a venue to execution is extremely hard work and people are going to have all sorts of opinions and they don't matter unless they've put together events themselves 🎟️
6. In the most stressful moments you have to remember to choose fun (none of this would be worth it if I chose anything else during the timestamp of the actual events) ⏰
7. Your aversion to being seen as person was also holding your artwork back (thanks @low.waste.collective for forcing me to step up in that regard) 👁️
8. Creativity is a form of intimacy (this could be a whole post)

+ interesting observation while gathering photos from this era is the absolute loss of color (compared to my most recent post). The first fashion show did have 11 monochromatic looks but it's interesting that the models set to wear the closest to neon looks including that orange wig dropped out last minute,,, a pattern that repeated when I lost half a dozen models shortly ahead of the NYFW event in Brooklyn and I shifted the color pallet last minute to remove almost all of the green pieces

Restorative Yoga with Chrissy @ittakesa_villa was a magical reset 😌🙏🏾✨ Knowing my little one was taken care of elevated the entire experience and I can’t wait for the next class!
