There’s really nothing like opening a tall, thick newspaper, in the middle of the summer - and preferably in the shade of a broad, leaf-heavy tree.

In this summer’s #Kulm Post and for its first edition, I have investigated at large the history of automobiles and motor racing in #Engadin, one of Switzerland’s most storied and fascinating valley. From the first cars, their perceptions and a long-term ban to the advent of international tourism and today’s dynamic event calendar, I paint a picture of the cultural symbol the automobile has become in this very specific mountainous landscape. I couldn’t prevent myself from mentioning some of the resort’s most famed residents, such as Gianni Agnelli or Herbert von Karajan - who had spectacular garages and were seasoned collectors. It was a pleasure to work with @kulmhotel / @pascalalexander / @mathisneuhaus and dig deep into the archives of St. Moritz and Upper Engadin. Enjoy a last long-summer-read, and see you in winter!

Great evening last night with the cresta guys and girls of the St Moritz Tobogganing Club in London. A privilege to be invited to such an evening and meet so many interesting people. Cresta is another winter sport to add to the list that most people think is insane especially when you hear that it’s common for someone older than 80 to throw themselves down the track! Looking forward to seeing you all again on track in St Moritz next season 🛷 Thanks again for the support and the cashmere hats 🧢 @taylor_lawrence1 is never going to get his

Excluded for decades. Never forgotten. And now winning again.

Women have shaped the history of the Cresta Run since the very beginning and their story is finally being told in full.

Stephen Bartley, Honorary Archivist of the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club, traces the arc from Lorna Robertson, who rode the Cresta headfirst from Junction and later from the Men's Start, to today's female riders coming into their own.

Here are some of our favourite hotels destinations, outfits to wear there, and furniture and other items to bring that #AlpineChic feeling home all showcased in the hue of ski season. For more tips, including recommendations for furniture, curating an Alpine themed dinner party for your guests, or arranging hotels and getting around with local ski pass systems (we particularly love the Wilder Kaiser Brixental with over 275 km of pistes- we just got back in February) visit www.theluxuryaesthete.com or drop us a DM #chocolatebrown #apresski #austria #switzerland
