This is the end product of months of planning… the elegant, beautiful bit.

I always say the wedding day is the easy part for me. By then, I have a ceremony that’s been carefully created with my couple, given the green light, and is ready to go!

But there’s still plenty happening before we begin…

What you don’t see is me:

Checking microphones.
Chatting with musicians.
Running through the ceremony details with the photographer and videographer.
Checking in with the venue team.
Straightening chairs.
Reading through the ceremony one last time.
Swapping my flats for heels.
Making sure water and tissues are within reach, and the vow cards are positioned for easy access.

The calmer and more organised your celebrant is, the calmer your ceremony feels.

When it looks effortless, that usually means a lot of work has happened behind the scenes. 👌

Days like these remind us that we cannot forgo being a human being. That human doing has probably tipped the scales for a little (or a lot) too long. That there’s a deep desire to ‘be’ more, but there’s guilt, judgement or old stories around it, and so it gets pushed aside for another week, month, or longer.

A day like this one-day retreat is oh so very simple. The answers to our life dilemmas often are simple. Community. Nature. Movement. Qi Gong. Good food. Reflection. Quiet time. With space like this, you can hear what’s important, what matters, what needs to change, what needs to get going.
