“This award celebrates the connection between a film and its audience, recognizing the films that resonate most with our festival goers through attendance and the energy they bring to the theater.”

Dangerous beauty is that which seduces before it warns.

The thorn beneath the rose.
The poison within the perfume.
The thing we know we should not touch, and reach for anyway.

True beauty has never been entirely safe.

Perhaps that is why we desire it.

El Paso Film Festival 2026 Recap.

Don't know where to start, but there is so much talent in El Paso! To my new good friend Carlos, thank you for allowing me to tag along as VIP and I already crossed out the 6 and added 7 for next year 🤣.

To my friends at American Muscle and Party USA the two movies I saw, congratulations! 👏👏👏 Great movies and a thrill to watch and be able to ask questions after in person.

As to how I got here in the firstplace, it's a funny story and ultimately a true blessing.

I went for a run outside, ran into Malcolm, got introduced to Carlos, became VIP, and the met Nathan and was off to the races. And as you'll see in the third pic (with an empty can), I may just be the most interesting man in the world, stay thirsty friends.

AMERICAN MUSCLE SCREENING
EL PASO, TX 9/26
7PM // PHILANTHROPY THEATRE

“What I love about American Muscle is that it sets the stakes high at the start and cranks them higher and higher as each minute passes. Its slow reveal builds massive momentum all the way, keeping me off balance, off guard, and totally in on this roller coaster ride. Great movies make you feel, and the tension of this film comes from a complex storyline that has me running the final outcome through my mind even now. Nothing is as it seems, and there’s always something a little deeper going on underneath.”

EL PASO… This town holds a special place in my heart. We are thrilled to be included in this year’s lineup @elpasofilmfestival. We put the finishing touches on American Muscle at Rio Bravo Outpost and a few years back I had the pleasure of attending the festival with a film I wrote called Old Man directed by the great @lucky_mckee_official. I cannot wait to be back in Texas with one of the best film communities in the country! Thank you to @carlos.corral and everyone at the fest 🙏
