What a perfect day outside. I had to play a little hooky from chores and caught the A/B races at Bubba Cross in #STL today at @stlcountyparks’ Queeny Park.

All photos from that race can be found through the link in my bio.

We have cyclocross podiums to celebrate for our FSE athletes! 🎉

Stacy powered through unusually hot conditions at Bubba to take 2nd in her category and 4th overall! Justin crushed it at Pumpkin Hop CX, bringing home two wins, a 2nd, and a 3rd!

Huge congratulations, Stacy and Justin! Way to keep the momentum going. 💪

Cycling event costs add up fast. Here is how I keep them down:

- Register early. Fees usually go up closer to the date.

-Volunteer. Many organizers offer free or discounted future entries.

- Sign up for a series. It is often cheaper than single-ride pricing.

- Join shop group rides. Many are free.

- Travel with a group to split gas and lodging costs.

Cycling is about community, and these are ways I have saved money on participating in them locally and while traveling.

What’s your best money-saving tip?

Mississippi River levee ride. The ride ended with a kid asking if he could ride my bike, and I said absolutely!

From a college side hustle to a community staple—this is what the entrepreneurial spirit looks like! 🚴‍♂️

Edwardsville CEO had an incredible morning visiting The Cyclery, where father-son duo Steve and David Parks shared their inspiring entrepreneurial journey!

Nearly 47 years ago, a running injury sparked Steve’s love of cycling. What started as a passion and side hustle grew into a thriving family business and a staple of our community!

A few takeaways from their story:

🚴 Turn your passion into opportunity.
💪 Be willing to wear ALL the hats when running a small business.
🔄 Embrace change, adapt, and keep growing.
🤝 Build relationships and invest in your community.

Our students got a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run The Cyclery, explored the front and back of the house, and even tested out a few bikes and scooters! 🛴😎

Nearly five decades of entrepreneurship, a family legacy, and a lasting impact on our community. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Steve and David for sharing their story, opening their doors, and continuing to give back to the community they serve. We are grateful for your investment in the next generation of entrepreneurs!
