Say this with me, I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living. Say it one more time, I will see the goodness of God. In the land of the living. In our text today, our psalmist expresses his heart before God. Amid his fears and troubles surrounding him, he was confident enough to believe and declare that he would see God’s goodness regardless

When you know who God is, you have courage and audacity in tough seasons. Knowing God fills you with hope for the future. If you don’t know who God is, you’re most likely going to feel like God has abandoned you, doesn’t love you, or failed you.

Devotional - Healing for Broken Hearts
Topic: A Time for Satisfaction
Today's Verse - Psalm 147:3

One thing a broken heart does is trap you in a cycle of despair and pain. It affects your ability to have faith and believe in God again because of repeated disappointments.

That is why God heals broken hearts. He knows how difficult it is to let go of brokenheartedness. But He promises to heal you. He wants to bind your wounds, if you can trust Him.

Devotional - A Verse A Day Drives Fear Away
Topic: A Time for Satisfaction
Today's Verse - Psalm 145:15-16

One of the major markers that a due season is approaching is restlessness. Another is the sudden increase of options and distractions. These moments invite you to pay attention to what is near. I have learned that when I begin to feel restless in my spirit, it is often because my due season is close.

We see this even in childbirth. The closer a woman gets to delivery, the more uncomfortable it becomes to carry the child. The discomfort is not a sign that something is wrong. It is a sign that something is about to be birthed.

Beloved, as you wait on God and trust His timing, be intentional about paying attention to the patterns in your life. Notice the signs. Notice the shifts. These moments may be markers that your season is near, and that your heart is being prepared to receive what God has already prepared for you.

Devotional - A Verse A Day Drives Fear Away
Topic: Looking Expectantly
Today's Verse - Psalm 145:15-16

To expect from God, you must first know that there is provision for what you are asking for in His Word. There is Scripture for it. Find that Scripture and place it before you as you pray. Expectation is anchored in promise, not emotion. When God has spoken concerning a matter, you have permission to expect Him to act.

Devotional - A Verse A Day Drives Fear Away
Topic: Hope for Help
Today's Verse - Psalm 146:5

God did not say you should not ask for help. But when you do, your trust must be in Him. People can change their minds. Emergencies can arise. Capacity can fail. And when your hope is in man, your heart becomes vulnerable to disappointment.

But when your hope is in God, the end will be good.

Devotional - A Verse A Day Drives Fear Away
Topic: Not Slow, Just Patient
Today's Verse - 2 Peter 3:9

God is not delighting in delay. He is not marking time and saying, “Let me see how long she can hold out.” No. God is working out processes. He is not slack concerning His promise. He is patient. There is an appointed time for that promise, and He is patient enough to see that word come to pass in your life.

Devotional - A Verse A Day Drives Fear Away
Topic: Where Is Good In This
Today's Verse - Jeremiah 29:10-11

Sometimes we believe words because they fit what we already want. Sometimes we go to God’s word looking for confirmation of our own desires instead of accepting and submitting to His word. But God is not speaking to fit your thinking. He is speaking His purpose.

And yes, sometimes His word hurts. Sometimes it separates you from people, opportunities, or seasons you wanted to keep. Sometimes what you thought was the enemy was actually God doing necessary work. And when you come out on the other side, you realise that if you had not gone through it, you would not be standing where you are now.

Topic: Test the Prophecy
Today's Verse - Jeremiah 28:9 (NKJV)

Beloved, when a word comes to you, test it against Scripture. Does it match what God has already said? People can call you with a prophecy, and it can sound spiritual, emotional, even convincing, and still be a lie.

Devotional - A Verse A Day Drives Fear Away
Topic: Did God Really Say?
Today's Verse - Jeremiah 28:2-4

Sometimes the rush to say “God said” is not faith. It is fear. Fear of not being accepted. Fear of not being trusted. Fear of not sounding spiritual enough. But you already carry the Spirit of God. It is okay to say, “I sense this,” while still being unsure. Scripture tells us we know in part and we prophesy in part.

Partial knowledge is not failure. Pretending certainty is where the danger is. Hananiah was not judged for hoping. He was judged for lying in God’s Name. God’s Name carries weight. He does not lack integrity. If He did not say it, do not put His Name behind it.
