It's been a stunning few weeks seeing some of my favourite people do what they do best, and for most of them that's making music. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon at The Grove with Henry Wright, Jacob Garvey, and Callum O'Neil, went to see Lime Garden with Joanna, loved seeing Steel Foxes support High Fade, couldn't stop beaming at Georgina Gale at Head Of Steam and Hels at Grainger Market, loved catching Jack & Sachiko at The Cluny, and seeing Joe at my new favourite Edinburgh venue Leith Depot with support from Florence Jack and Becca Hunter! Two conferences this week, and a beautiful weekend in Whitby with the team at Musicport will be the cherry on top, how bloody wonderful?! 🍒

The Ferret’s 20th Birthday Weekender continues today! Saturday is the big one. An all-dayer of psych rock, post-punk and krautrock👇 👹@evil_blizzard_official Heavy psych, post-punk, krautrock and space rock. Three masked bassists, a guitarist who can't play guitar, a singing drummer and a pig with cleavers. Deadly serious and seriously theatrical. 🦉@hawk_owl_band Fuzzy psych, dream pop and space rock from neurotic Northern millennials staring down the reaper. Features former members of Tero Kulero. 💀@_dead_things Preston garage rock trio with fractured riffs, infectious melodies and post-punk tales of old Lancashire and horror movie final girls. ✨@thed1rt Japanese musician Sachiko and Manchester spoken word artist Jack (aka Leon the Pig Farmer) blend psych shoegaze guitars, electronic rhythms and abrasive spoken verse. 🎸The @im.shurr Duo Preston DIY musician and producer Dave Shurr, joined by drum legend Aidan Poland, with laid-back, atmospheric sounds and a personal touch. 🫵Want to party with us the whole weekend? A 4-day ticket is just £16 and covers all four nights! Supported using public funding by @aceagrams. (Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances Pyncher will no longer be playing this event.) #theferret #preston #lancashireevents #evilblizzard #alldayer #northwestgigs #grassrootsvenue
