Took my kid down to see his uncle @doncharlesboxing & so he could watch @dynamite_daniel_dubois train.

Current heavyweight champ & future heavyweight champ.

Fun fact: Don Charles used to be my brother’s trainer & my trainer.
We have also collaborated together on a fighter as trainers together.
Known him for 20 years or more now. Wanted to show my kid the people I can surround him with in this sport. He’s already been around a number of world champions, Gold medalists & trainers because of my profession. I always get him to open up & talk to them because those talks hold value. Boxing isn’t just about fighting, it’s also business & the right people you surround yourself with. I’m teaching him from young so when it’s time to turn pro nobody will be able to take advantage of him. They won’t because I won’t let it happen, but he still needs to learn the game.

The goal doesn’t get easier.
You just get better at keeping your eyes on it.

I can’t be doing this for no reason. It’s got to happen & it will happen.

There’s not many coaches that will get in the ring and put their body on the line when there is no sparring available. Especially at 41 & full of injuries.

I know a few personally that do the same thing. To be honest, it’s how I like to teach the fighters. I live this to the fullest. 🥊

Every fighter of mine has to learn how to become a world-class body puncher. That is non-negotiable.

There are so many different ways to attack the body, it’s not just about throwing standard body shots. Be intelligent with it, but be spiteful with it too. Put your punches in all the places they’re not going to like.

When someone asks me, “What do you look for in a fighter, and what makes you want to train them?” watch this video.
Want more context? Okay.
This kid is 15 years old. I love training him. I’m excited every day to work with him because he gives me 150%. More importantly, I can see in his personality and character that he wants to be the best.
I can see it in his eyes. He’s willing to suffer. Willing to put everything on the line. Even the sound of his voice when he’s hitting the bag is full of raw emotion, like he’s got something to prove to the world.
He does everything I tell him to do, exactly when I tell him to do it. He doesn’t complain. He puts his head down and gives everything to the craft.
I don’t care if you’re 10 years old or 26 years old. I don’t care how talented you are, because talent only takes you so far. What I care about is whether you want it just as badly as I do.
When you have a fighter who is willing to sacrifice everything, and a coach who wants the same thing, there’s only one possible outcome:
WORLD CHAMPION.
To be the best, you have to push past limits that most people will never be willing to reach.
When I take on a fighter, I need to look at them and instantly know that I can make them a world champion. And I’ll say it again, it’s not just about ability. It’s about everything else I mentioned above.
The work ethic. The discipline. The sacrifice. The obsession.
That’s the 1% Club.

For the final round on the bag, I only gave him one instruction: “The fight is close. You need to win this round.” 🥊

15 year old future world champ putting in another day of hard work.
The way he works for such a young kid is unbelievable. He’s work rate & relentlessness is phenomenal. He is a respectful kid, but when it’s time to work, he turns into a killing machine. Talent is one thing, but having the discipline to work hard is another thing. This kid has it, trust me. 🥊

Here it is. You saw the quarter final highlights & now here is the Semi-final & Final highlights of my son @rcp.bxng

Rio had his first fight only 2 years ago & entered the youth elite Haringey box cup championships with only 12 fights. Boxed 3 times in 3 days & beat a Ukrainian in the final who represented his country & had over 100 fights. Rio boxed well beyond his experience to claim the Gold medal. I’m very proud & he is proud, but now it’s time to take this experience & start taking it to another level. 2026 Haringey box cup champion.🥇 💪🏽 🥊
