We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with writer-actor Eric Canfield (ericcanfield) in platforming his series #NineCavities!! @ninecavities is a four-episode, mockumentary-style comedy series: “When a small-town dentist’s office gets a new receptionist, brothers Dr. Louie and Benji Phillips fear that she might expose their best-kept secret: they’re not dentists at all.” The first episode of the series will be releasing exclusively on the @1716digital YouTube channel on Sunday, October 18th! That same night, 1716 will be hosting an in-person premiere event in Brooklyn, NY where we’ll be screening the first two episodes! Visit the link in @ninecavities’ bio to reserve your spot at the premiere before it fills up! Filmed in the spring of 2025, the series has been the product of a collective effort from a cast and crew almost exclusively comprised of undergrads from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts’ (@uncsa) School of Drama (@uncsadrama). After originally writing the script as a stage play, Eric led a team of writers — Tanner McIntyre (@tannermcintyree), Aidan Dominic Roche (@aidandominicroche), and Anton Gillis-Adelman (@antongillisadelman) — in adapting it for the screen. After crowdfunding $4,000 from it’s pitch alone, Nine Cavities was shot in less than two weeks in Winston-Salem, NC, days before most of its team graduated college. The series stars a comedic ensemble led by Grace Mori (@thegracemori), alongside Aidan Dominic Roche, Daniel Rosales (@thedanielrosales), Tanner McIntyre, Miranda Faria (@mirandafaria), Yael Eve (@yaelevejn), and Janine Hawley (@j9hawley).
