Cookbook Club Vol. 2

I got a lot of questions and interest about #cookbookclub so here’s how we do ours.

1. Form the club. We wanted to keep this cute and intimate, with just the five of us but maybe it’s more the merrier for your group! This group works because we’re friends who all wanted to add something different to our social calendars

2. Pick a cookbook. We’ve been working our way through @ayeshacurry’s Full Plate. Once we’ve decided we’ve cooked enough dishes, we’ll move on to the next!

3. Come up with a menu. We plan out dishes together ahead of time so the meal isn’t too heavy and has good variety

4. Dinner Topics. We have a shared note that we add to throughout the month. Conversation easily flows amongst us, but this makes sure we hit all the highlights and things we don’t want to miss!

5. Pick a theme. this month we were manifesting our best stepford wives/ SAHM lives. Definitely optional but this is so cute and makes the experience even more fun

for my final event of the year, i covered the largest tech conference for Black professionals in the country.

there is nothing i love more than sharing space with my cousins, networking, and being reminded how important it is for us to stick together and help each other get to the next level. whatever that may look like.

even though i was working, this past weekend gave me the motivation i needed to continue on my path. @afro.tech you owe me nothing and thanks for having me ❤️
