A good friend of mine asked me to sing at a memorial service for someone they lost and so I wrote this song. Although it was for a person they lost, I channelled the feeling of losing my own mother and both my grandmothers almost two years ago in the hopes of writing about death in a universal way. The night I wrote it, all the words just flowed out. In my poetry I’ve been able to talk about the loss freely but for some reason it was harder in song, until this song. This is just a demo of that song with the intention of recording it in full. Much love.
