This is what community looks like 🥰

Out and About Aurora: 4th Annual Cousins Park Egg Hunt 🐇

These are scenes from this year’s Cousins Park Egg Hunt, a popular local tradition that I started with help from my neighbours back in 2022, shortly after the birth of my first daughter.

Was I worried at the time that no one would come? Yes!

Did it seem bananas when I was lugging Easter decor around the park on a cold spring morning with a 6 month old baby strapped to my chest who wasn’t even old enough to participate? Absolutely!

Did I question whether the kids would have fun, we’d have enough treats, rain would hold off, and things would go smooth? Totally!

But, it was my willingness to go out on a limb for the potential reward of community building and connection that motivated me. And it sure paid off!

Fast forward 4 years… We recently had another wonderful spring event in our community. It brings neighbours together — some friends and others meeting for the first time. It’s a chance to meet new babies, for little kids to learn from their older peers, for teens to volunteer, for parents to re-connect after a long winter, and for kindness and generosity to become a gold standard that we can pay forward throughout the rest of the year.

As always, thank you to everyone who contributed, helped and attended. You all made the day really, really special. 🙏🏼❤️

Can’t wait for next year!
