POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Earlier this year when I was down in ATL, I had the opportunity to link back up with my @controllerise family @stlndrms x @djempressrah It was always a serious Monday night vibe. 🙌🏾Gonna miss this event that stood 10 toes down for the culture. 😩 However, I’m looking forward to what they do next.

Shoutout to all my DJ fam that pulled up and supported me that night. 🫶🏾

It’s been almost a month and I’ve finally recovered and processed another successful @playlistretreat . I’m so thankful to do what I love and work along side this team and spend a week appreciating the most talented mutants.
❤️🤍🖤 (I ran out of tags but just know champ and chef Robert and @outoftheordinarycatering are the MVPs)

Playlist 2026 was definitely one for the books! We’ve been hearing that this was one of our best years yet, and we’re truly grateful to continue evolving year after year.

None of it would be possible without the incredible people who help bring this community to life. We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a few of the people behind it all.

We’ll start here. More to come soon.

Playlist fam, show them some love! ❤️🤍🖤

Johnny developed our Playlist app. He’s a genius and beyond! There is nothing that he can’t build.

Danielle gets it done! By any means necessary. ❤️🤍🖤

Dayne… whatever needs to be done part 2! ❤️🤍🖤

“Dan the Man” is a Swiss Army knife!!! This year he built legs for a couch that needed to be on stage the night before the Retreat started because we couldn’t find the original legs. ❤️🤍🖤

Laiya is our host but more importantly she’s going to keep you informed throughout the retreat. You will not see her without her 📢❤️🤍🖤

Uncle Steve won’t allow you to lift a finger. He’s one of one. “Let me do it.” ❤️🤍🖤

Tez runs the studio. He knows every mic, interface & cable we own social security number by heart!!! ❤️🤍🖤

Mir is the glue. He’s going to make sure things are running smoothly. You’ll usually see him riding back and forth on the golf cart transporting something ❤️🤍🖤

Drew is Mir’s twin. If you see one of them the other isn’t that much further behind.

Maal is always lowkey but he’ll never leave us hanging. Somehow he manages to always be there when we call.❤️🤍🖤

Uncle Joe is a comedian and he might play too much but he’s always getting his work done. Thank you Unc!!!
❤️🤍🖤

Willette is usually one of the first people you’ll see during registration and you better not touch her pen without permission!!!! We love this woman.❤️🤍🖤

The Dewd1… isn’t it obvious???? He’s that DEWD!
❤️🤍🖤

Lapo is another genius who’s usually locked in a studio session engineering or trouble shooting the internet 🛜 ❤️🤍🖤

Ryan is Chicago’s finest. She’s going to tell it like it is. The Retreat would not be the same without her! ❤️🤍🖤

Lori is new to the team but she’s been Playlist fam for years. We are extremely grateful to have her be on our

I’m incredibly grateful to Lynette and Jeff for trusting me with so much, giving me the space to explore the visions and ideas in my head, then bring them into the experience we’re building with Playlist. I admire and respect you both for allowing me to ask questions, take chances, make mistakes, and learn along the way. For that alone, there’s always a part of me that wants to make you proud, and I hope I’ve been able to do that so far.

Naturally, we go into things asking, “What do I get out of this?” In recent years, I’ve learned to ask the opposite: “What can I give to this, and how can I add value?” Years ago, my big brother Lupe always talked about adding value. I completely understand it now. 👌🏾

We should be looking for ways to contribute to every space we enter, because it always finds its way back around, often when we least expect it. Giving isn’t always about money or putting something physical in someone’s hands. Sometimes it’s your time, effort, attention, and presence, and those can be some of the most valuable things you have to offer.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned as an artist is that it’s never about me. I was given a gift and my job is to keep developing and nurturing that gift, then give it back to the world.

I’ll always advocate for creators because I understand them through and through, while continuing to build bridges between them and the people we have the opportunity to partner with. Both sides have to understand that giving isn’t one-sided.

When you prioritize it over the long term, you’ll often receive more than you ever expected in return.

I’m grateful to everyone in the Playlist community who continues to be open to both. Thank you all… 26!!!

“NEW YEAR, NEW ME” sounded great in January… but now there are only 4 months left in 2026.
⁣
You said this was the year you’d finally learn how to create DJ edits, mashups, remixes, and original productions for your DJ sets. So, how much have you actually finished?
⁣
This isn’t to call you out—it’s to remind you that your music production goals still matter. But they won’t finish themselves.
⁣
4 months is more than enough time to stop watching endless tutorials, stop overthinking, and start finishing tracks you’re proud to play live.
⁣
If you want to learn music production for DJs, create DJ edits and mashups that actually work on the dance floor, and turn your ideas into finished remixes and original tracks, you need structure, feedback, and accountability.
⁣
Tweak Music Academy is a DJ production course built specifically for DJs who want to stop procrastinating and finally learn how to produce.
⁣
Ready to stop talking about it and start producing music for your sets?
