🤸🏾‍♀️ Backbend Series: Week 1 🤸🏾‍♀️

This is a good one for all levels to enter in. 🙌🏾

*: Each option has variations, so you can choose where you want to be. Whichever option you choose, you can remain stationary (hold between 15-30 seconds with proper muscle engagement) or you can do small, or big, marches (2-3 sets of 10 each side).

I’ll post the starting point of these challenges here, but I’ll be posting my daily and final progress on Tik Tok, so check it out there 🙌🏾

💬 How did it feel for you? Let us know in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️

✨ Want to improve your mobility, but don’t know how? Well you’re in luck! I create short, guided videos on YouTube to help you move better and learn more about YOUR body.

Wishing you well, Fam!

🤸🏾‍♀️ Backbend Series 🤸🏾‍♀️

Excited for this one 🤩

My goals:
1️⃣ Backbend from standing by end of November
2️⃣ Backbend from a handstand by end of the year

If those goals are not where you are at, NO WORRIES! I’ll post more beginner friendly options for the first few weeks. 🤗 I’ll post the weekly challenges on TIk Tok and Instagram, but will keep my daily progressions to Tik Tok only.

✨ If you want to see the progress AND learn the tips and tricks to improve your technique, then join my TikTok Wellness Fam 🤗 (🔗 in bio).

If you know me, you know the 4 requirements that I preach to have healthy joints (if you don’t know then feel free to ask) and this series will be focused on strengthening and mobility 💪🏾

For those who have backbends as their goals, no matter where you’re starting from, we’ll be in this together 🙌🏾

✨ Remember to warm up first ☺️

Can’t wait to do this journey with ya’ll! First, backbend challenge is loading 🙌🏾

October’s #MeetingOfTheMinds is starting strong with our very own, Milo ( @milonowherefitness )!

When I say Milo is a renaissance man, I mean it. He is a creative in multiple ways … musically, visually, and mentally to name just a few. He loves fitness and being in community with other driven individuals.

Plus he has a passion for philosophy!

There’s so much to get into that you’ll just have to join the IG Live to see for yourself 🙌🏾

🚨Mobility Challenge: Backbend Edition🚨

This was a fun one, but definitely needed to work on my motor control when I switched directions. 🤭

How far up the stairs can you get?

If you don’t think you can do this, here are some modifications for you:
1️⃣ Keep your wheel stationary (aka no walking)
2️⃣ Stay on the ground
3️⃣ Transform your wheel into a bridge (keep your upper back and arms on the ground and just lift your hips)

✨ Still don’t know if you have the mobility for this? No worries! I got you 🤗 You see, I created my YouTube channel for you and others who want short, guided videos that improve how your body moves EVEN IF you have a busy schedule.

🚨 Mobility Monday Flow: Seated Edition 🚨

In the comments of one of my other movement reels, one of our Wellness Fam members asked for a seated movement challenge to do at work, so I came up with this.

You can pick and choose which ones to do or do them all to feel a burn 🔥

Aim for 3 sets of 12-15 and you’ll feel it 😏

Had a wonderful time speaking at the USA Thalidomide Survivors (USATS) conference this week.

Thank you @usthalidomide62 for inviting me back to speak on a topic I am passionate about and thanks to @taylor_inthewild for recommending me for this opportunity. 🙏🏾

I could tell by the questions you all had that you are motivated to feel and move your best especially as you advocate to our government. I’m honored to be a piece to your puzzle ☺️

💡For those that don’t know about thalidomide, here’s a brief history:

Thalidomide was a sedative and antiemetic drug that was widely used in the 1950s and early 1960s to treat morning sickness in pregnant women. In fact, it was prescribed to millions of pregnant women worldwide during that time.

In 1961, a physician noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in babies born with severe birth defects, including missing or deformed limbs, after their mothers took thalidomide during pregnancy. It was soon taken off the shelves, but the damage was already done.

Now that you know the history, check out their page. They are advocating hard and living life in community. Feel free to follow them so you can keep up to date on their next moves 🙌🏾

Wishing you well, Fam!
