POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A lot of the stories told about the African woman do not portray her true self. This is usually because the story is single and comes from people who do not know her, nor care to learn about her. By an African woman I mean, a woman who was born in Africa or whose parents were born in Africa, lives in Africa or the diaspora. A woman who identifies her ethnicity as African. This woman comes in shades of black, white or mixed.
The single story I’m talking about here, is the story of the black African woman that the media chooses to show you. The story of how she is uneducated, a nurturer, weak, poor or a victim. Anywhere that you choose to travel to today, you would find people that you could give these very same labels, but the world media won’t let you do that because those labels have already been allocated to the black woman in Africa. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying Africa doesn’t have uneducated women or victims. It does, but that is not the only story that African women have. For a long time now, the media has been allowed to tell this single story and the rest of the world chooses to continue to believe it. Basically, the media wants you to believe that nothing good ever comes out of mother continent. Be it it’s people, or otherwise.
It is of my experience that we see positives when gender equality and the promotion of female empowerment is promoted. Within this topic, it means that African women should be given a chance to contribute to their own stories. And if that is not possible, then portray her in the good light that she deserves. Do not crop her out! The African woman has a lot of positive experiences to share with you all. She is smart, she is resilient, she is hardworking, she is a CEO, she is a scientist, she is kind, she is funny, she is a friend, and she is a great lover. Ahem! Seek her out and write about her. She comes in droves and she will inspire you. Take that bold move today, get out of your comfort zone and share with the world the good stories from her.

These stories often showcase the mother's entrepreneurial spirit and her determination to overcome obstacles.

Many stories involve the mother selling fruits and vegetables to make ends meet, often as a single parent or following the death of a spouse.

Title: A dreamer.
Price: 20k$
In a dream, a woman selling plantains could symbolize a variety of things, often tied to themes of provision, hard work, and potential prosperity. The specific details of the dream, such as the condition of the plantains (ripe or unripe), the setting, and the woman's actions, would influence the interpretation. Generally, selling plantains could represent an entrepreneurial spir
a desire to create opportunities, or the anticipation of positive outcomes in one's endeavors.
Here's a possible storyline:
Setting the Scene: The dream opens with a vibrant market scene, bustling with activity. The woman, perhaps familiar or a stranger, is skillfully arranging plantains at her stall, some ripe and yellow, others green and firm.
The Dreamer's Role: The dreamer could be observing the scene, perhaps a customer considering a purchase, or even feeling a sense of connection to the woman's work ethic and the abundance of the plantains.
Conflict and Resolution: The dream might introduce a minor conflict, such as a customer haggling over price, or a brief moment of uncertainty as the woman prepares the plantains for sale. This could symbolize minor challenges faced in one's own life or business. The resolution might come in the form of a successful sale, a customer's satisfied expression, or the woman's calm and confident demeanor.
Symbolism of Plantains: Ripe plantains in a dream often symbolize blessings, prosperity, and good fortune. Unripe plantains might represent challenges or opportunities that are still developing. The act of selling plantains could indicate a desire to share one's resources or create opportunities for others.
Interpretation: The dream could be interpreted as a reflection of the dreamer's own potential for success and abundance. It might encourage the dreamer to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, work diligently towards their goals, and anticipate positive outcomes. Alternatively, it could highlight the importance of resourcefulness and the ability to create opportunities for oneself and others.
Possible Variations:
Selling unripe plantains:
Could suggest a focus on long-term goals, or the need to cultivate opportunit

My little Ryleigh Pooh turned 4 years old! Sigh! It’s so bittersweet. Ryleigh said, “It’s my special day” and she was right!

We started the day with a little pamper treatment. I washed and styled her hair, put her in a cute dress, gave her a personal photo shoot, took her to Party City and got her some balloons, took her toy shopping, got her a cake from Mexicantown Bakery, and we all sang her, “Happy Birthday!”

She definitely had a day to remember! “Happy Birthday to my youngest daughter and my littlest girl! I love you!
