If you missed all my stories from Sunday, June 21st for our @thedayofmusic city-wide music festival with @makemusicday, it went perfectly the way I hoped for: safe and musical with smiles everywhere I looked. Thank you to everyone that was part of the event and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to play and have fun at The Big Bowl at Hillcrest Park. Thank you to everyone that came out to support the artists and picnic with us!
And most of all thank you LORD for keeping us safe!

Awhile back, I made a playlist of @thecobaltpresents bands and that was on Spotify. I went back, added a few more bands and now it’s available on my YouTube channel. Click the link in bio to check it out!! More bands to be added but absolutely give all the bands on there a listen.

Reflecting Forward: An Interview with Brianna “B.B.” Sherrodd of The Drained

Interview by Ken Morton - Photos by Jack Lue

Los Angeles–based power‑pop outfit The Drained has been steadily carving out their identity through lineup shifts, stylistic evolution, and the unmistakable creative drive of frontwoman Brianna “B.B.” Sherrodd. Fresh off the release of their new EP Songs in the Mirror and a memorable acoustic performance at the Highwire Daze 35th Anniversary Show (Bar 10 at The Corbin Bowl), B.B. sat down with us to talk about the band’s journey, the stories behind the songs, and the personal growth that shaped their latest work. From navigating post‑pandemic changes in the LA music scene to unexpected NAMM show challenges, B.B. opens up about anxiety, inspiration, collaboration, and what’s next for The Drained as they head into a new year with renewed momentum.

Editor Ken's Top 10 EP's of 2025

In past years, I struggled to fill an EP list with ten interesting names—but not this time. From ethereal shoegaze to the most brutal death metal, the EPs of 2025 rival the full-length albums in creativity and impact.

Crxssourhearts, Demi the Daredevil, The Drained, Eldfödd , Madam Bombs, Mid June, Moral, My Courtesy, Set For Tomorrow, Tom A Smith
