Grateful for experiences like this morning. 🙏 Big respect to @nickbarefitness for the value he brings through @bpnsupps , his podcast, and the community he’s built around health, fitness, and personal growth. Getting invited out to his personal ranch for a community run, Q&A, and meet & greet was an incredible experience. The fact that he opens up opportunities like this for people in the community says a lot about the kind of impact he’s making. Thankful I got to be a part of it. To top it off also broke into the sub 1 hour 10k!!!

IRONMAN AUSTRALIA Finished my first Ironman in 11:19:17. Such a crazy day with so many ups and downs. The 6 months leading up to this was the biggest training block I’ve done yet with so much growth both physically and mentally So grateful for my family to be there supporting me for the whole 11+ hours although they left me for the last 20kms of the marathon and hardest part of the race 😅 This sport has changed my life and the way I perceive pain, it has taught me to enjoy the journey and be content but never satisfied. I’m excited to focus on running next and move into the ultra distance running world 😎

Marathon debut ✅ 3:25:41 A week after the Pittsburgh half marathon in May, I decided it was time for me to do the real thing. Since the end of my soccer career, I’ve been craving the grind of putting maximum effort into training during the summer in order to achieve a goal. I knew the Columbus marathon would be the perfect opportunity to get that feeling back. Over the next 23 weeks, I ran a total of 818.2 miles, about 36 miles a week, to be ready for October 18th, 2026. Some people might think my training sounds excessive for a first marathon, but to me, there’s no point in doing something without giving it your maximum effort. When I lined up to run on Sunday, I had no doubt I was ready to go. I am proud of what I accomplished in Columbus. Prior to the race, I knew my fitness was at a sub 3:30 level, but I also understood that it would be in my best interest to play it conservative and go out with the 3:30 pace group. By the time I got to 13.1, I felt great and knew I had to take a risk and make a move. Ultimately, I ended up running faster in the second half of the marathon than I did in Pittsburgh in May. I’m still processing how cool that is. I want to give a special s/o to my coach @zanderfasulkey I am grateful for the time and effort he put into making sure I was able to accomplish what I sent out to do for my first marathon. If anyone is looking to get into endurance training, I would highly recommend him. I’m looking forward to what we will be able to accomplish heading into 2027. Since crossing the finish line, all I have been thinking about is what I can do to improve. I want more. Do hard things. You’ll be surprised of what your capable of 🤘

THE EFFECT ATHLETICS: PURSUING ONE’S PURPOSE Luke Hopkins has spent much of his life finding different ways to test himself. From natural bodybuilding and powerlifting to marathons and Ironman racing, the Austin-based athlete has built a following around discipline, endurance, and personal growth. A neuroscience graduate from the University of Southern California, Hopkins completed Ironman Arizona in 9 hours and 17 minutes in 2025, establishing himself as an accomplished hybrid athlete. His experiences inside and outside of competition helped shape The Effect, an independent athletic lifestyle brand centered around the philosophy of “Pursuing One’s Purpose.” Rather than focusing exclusively on performance apparel, the brand brings together running, fashion, and community through everyday essentials, including graphic crewnecks, mesh shorts, and headwear. Its identity reflects Hopkins’s belief that pursuing something meaningful extends beyond athletic achievement. Community has become an important part of The Effect’s growing identity. Through group runs, gatherings, and shared experiences, the brand is creating opportunities for people to connect through movement. What begins with clothing is intended to represent something larger, encouraging individuals to pursue their own ambitions while surrounding themselves with others doing the same. That philosophy has also been tested in Hopkins’s own life. After suffering a stress fracture that interrupted his training in 2026, he spoke openly about learning to separate his identity from athletic performance. It reinforced an idea that now sits at the center of his work: purpose cannot be measured entirely by personal records, competition results, or physical accomplishments. For Hopkins, The Effect represents more than another athletic clothing label. It is an attempt to build a community around the values that have shaped his life, reminding people that the impact they have on others can be just as meaningful as the goals they achieve themselves.
