Thomas’s Ham & Eggery Diner📍

Carle Place, NY

Since 1946, Thomas’s Ham & Eggery has been cracking eggs along Old Country Road on Long Island.

For decades, the diner was watched over by a six-foot neon chicken that appeared to drop eggs into a skillet until a 1979 storm finally sent the big bird flying the coop.

Thankfully, the eggs stayed put, and they’re still served sizzling in individual skillets alongside the kind of hearty breakfast that are lengendary.

Nearly 80 years later, Thomas’s is still going strong, proving once again that you should never underestimate a diner that once had a giant neon chicken on the roof 🐔🍳
