💖 The Heart Behind the Rhinestones 💖
Dolly Parton was a fascinating contradiction: impossibly glamorous yet completely down to earth, larger than life yet remarkably generous, a superstar who never seemed to forget where she came from.

Born into poverty in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, Dolly built an extraordinary life through talent, determination, imagination, and an enormous amount of hard work. She became a songwriter, recording artist, actress, entrepreneur, and businesswoman—and then used the success she created to help other people.

Her philanthropy reached far beyond one cause. She supported children’s hospitals and pediatric research, helped fund medical research, stepped up for families devastated by the Tennessee wildfires, supported disaster relief after major floods, and invested in education and opportunities for young people in her home community.

She had a particularly beautiful way of turning personal experience into generosity. Having grown up in a family that struggled financially, she understood what it meant when someone opened a door for you.

And of course, she opened plenty of doors.

For generations of drag queens, Dolly was also a shining example of the transformative power of glamour. The hair, the rhinestones, the curves, the costumes, the humor—she understood that you could be spectacular without losing your warmth or humanity.

Perhaps that’s why so many people felt that they knew Dolly.

She didn’t just entertain us. She made the world feel a little more generous, a little more colorful, and a lot more fun.

That’s a legacy worth putting on your biggest wig for. 💕✨
