Save this video for the next time you want to have a new experience in LA!

I made cold-process soap for the first time at @goldenterraco's beginning class at @spiralstudiosla 🧼

I was a little intimidated because I heard lye can be dangerous 🫣 but Ashley made it simple, safe, and so fun!

I made a loaf of soap with fruit loops, vanilla, and peach fragrance, colloidal oatmeal for some grit, and petals and black sea salt on top!

We'll get our soaps back in a few weeks after they cure. I'm so excited to get to use it! 💓

This class was such a fun way to try a new activity without having to buy all of the supplies or worry about the safety aspect on your own. I couldn't recommend it more!

would you try it? 👀

Most touristy thing I’ve probably done in LA, but actually so fun. Highly recommend the TMZ brunch tour 🤣💀

And yes, that’s Corrine Olympios taking a shot with the group. Of course I had to ask her what she thought of the TFP scandal, and of course she thought I was press. I said sorry no, just a regular ass girl that likes some good gossip lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

Shopping usually isn't on my vacation to-do list, but I'm SO glad I made an exception to visit @theforumcarlsbad's unique Art and Wine event! From the free wine garden to the art market and activities, I had an amazing time. But my favorite part? Getting to make a custom floral bookmark with the super sweet gals from @wildcreativeandfreeofficial! They even donated $10 from each bookmark to the @the_flower_fields foundation!

The bookmark became the perfect souvenir from my trip because it celebrates the colorful flowers Carlsbad is known for, and comes with a great new memory 💖🌸🌷☀️🌼

If you want to get inspired, just go to @the_flower_fields! The beautiful fields of ranunculus could make even the least crafty person get an itch to make art! 🌼🌷🌸💖

After getting inspired by The Flower Fields and a gorgeous dinner by @chefbrubs at @omnilacosta, I took a rainy morning at @vinakacafe to create a teeny tiny embroidered portrait of the flowers. After finishing it up at @beachterraceinn, I went back to a viewpoint of the fields to see the French knot portrait next to the real thing!

Day 2 of Crafting Around #Carlsbad and I got to try my hand at pottery for the first time at @handledpotterystudio! 🏺✨🌸 They were so wonderful helping me fix what I was doing wrong so I was able to create a bowl I'm actually SO excited to use (when it's finished drying and gets fired and glazed in 3-4 weeks! I can't wait to get it back!)

I also stopped by @thegoodsdoughnuts for a brown butter sea salt doughnut and a strawberry matcha on the way (it was INSANELY good)🧋🍩

There are so many things that are inspiring me about Carlsbad, but the best part is how many unique independent businesses there are and how engaged the community is with them. It really is a special place for creatives, business, and families! 🌷💕

This week I'm Crafting Around Carlsbad! 🌷🌸🌹🌻🌼 Doing different arts and crafts while hobby hopping around one of Southern California's prettiest beach towns. I'm staying at beautiful Beach Terrace, the only hotel in Carlsbad with a private beach! I went for an early morning walk and took inspiration for my morning watercolor painting from the sweet plovers on the coast. Follow along for all of my Carlsbad activities this week! #VisitCarlsbad #Carlsbad
