POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Spent the evening with my pal Lindsay Fellows and I’m still catching my breath. The man’s a human whirlwind.

From helping break Sixpence None the Richer to overseeing music on films like The Chronicles of Narnia and The Imitation Game, Lindsay has spent decades moving between the worlds of records, film, television, and live entertainment.

A friend to music executives and songwriters alike.

But ask him what he’s proudest of, and he won’t mention any of it.

He’ll tell you about his daughter, Chloé Caroline.
Soon, you’ll hear why.

Chloé’s coming to Lido Records.

I had to learn how to be “the one” for myself before I could find the right one 🩷

5 DAYS. 5 SONGS TO GO.
✍🏼TRACK 5: BEING ALONE
self-worth.

after years of heartbreak, I started realizing that the love I’d been searching for in someone else was something I needed to give myself first.

I had to learn to love myself the way I loved others and the way I wanted to be loved. to stop waiting for someone to choose me and start choosing myself.

somewhere along the way, being alone stopped feeling like something I needed to escape. I was building a life I loved, and I wasn’t willing to settle for someone who didn’t add to it.

“I can love me well / till I got a good reason and it better beat being alone.”

the right person should be a bonus to your happiness, not the reason for it. and before I could find the right one, I had to become the one for me. 🤍

maybe to start again u gotta hit rock bottom

1 WEEK FROM TODAY. 7 SONGS TO GO.

✍🏼TRACK 7: ROCK BOTTOM
surrender.

have you ever loved someone so much that you forgot how to love yourself?

I wrote this song right after walking away from a five-year relationship with someone I still loved. it was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but deep down, I knew I couldn’t keep sacrificing myself trying to make something work.

for so long, I’d believed that if I just loved harder, tried harder, or held on a little longer, things might finally change. I wanted to be his rock. but somewhere along the way, I’d lost my own footing.

“I’ll always be your rock / but standing still I’m lost.”

I was realizing that sometimes, constantly trying to save someone can keep them from learning how to stand on their own and maybe the only way for either of us to grow was to finally let everything fall apart.

Rock Bottom is about that painful kind of surrender. accepting that loving someone doesn’t always mean staying, and that letting go might be the very thing that allows both people to find their way.

8 DAYS. 8 SONGS TO GO. entering ACT I: THE AWAKENING. 🏜️📖

✍🏼TRACK 8: ARIZONA
loving through letting go.

have you ever met someone who felt right, only to realize the timing (and maybe the person) wasn’t?

I wrote this song about a whirlwind relationship during COVID that went from zero to 100 pretty quickly. I was still healing from a long relationship, but genuinely believed this person had come into my life for a reason.

when he got a job opportunity in Arizona, things started to unravel. what I thought was a connection worth fighting for suddenly became something I had to learn to let go of.

somewhere along the way, I started imagining Arizona as another woman taking my place, hoping she’d love him as much as I did.

“hope we meet along the road / but if we do or if we don’t / she better love you like I’ve shown ya, Arizona.”

at the time, I still believed our paths might cross again. but I was beginning to understand that you can love someone without being attached to the outcome.

letting go didn’t mean my feelings weren’t real. it meant choosing myself, continuing to heal, and trusting that if something was meant for me, I wouldn’t have to force it. looking back, I’ve realized that someone can come into your life for a reason without being meant to stay forever.

when a breakup = losing ur best friend too❤️‍🩹

9 DAYS.
✍🏼TRACK 9: ANOTHER BEST FRIEND
grief.

I’ll never forget starting to write this sitting on my bed, fresh out of a breakup, and realizing I wasn’t actually scared of falling in love again. I was scared of having to build another best friendship from the ground up knowing I could lose that too.

the darkest secrets. the inside jokes no one else understands. becoming part of each other’s families. the person you instinctively call when something happens.

“someone can lay down by my side / but to get me like you takes more than time.”

I knew I needed to be alone for a while because I just couldn’t imagine having the energy to build that kind of bond all over again.

but healing eventually changed the way I saw endings too. I started to understand that losing someone doesn’t mean the love was a loss. sometimes an ending is another step toward becoming more aligned with yourself and eventually, with the person who’s meant to meet you there.

whenever I play this song live, there always seems to be someone in the place I was when I wrote it. and maybe that’s why it still means so much to me.

if that’s you right now, you’re not alone. don’t let the grief make you give up on the risk of loving again.

“I won’t wait, but I’ll leave room.” 🫴

10 DAYS.
✍🏼TRACK 10: SAVING SPACE
grace.

I once came across this idea that there’s a difference between waiting for someone and saving space for them, and it completely shifted my perspective. it also gave me quite possibly my favorite song I've written.

waiting can have control attached to it. putting your life on pause, closing yourself off and holding onto a specific outcome.

saving space is different. it’s letting go, continuing to live your life and trusting that if something is truly meant for you, you don’t have to force it to find its way back to you.

that became the heart of this song. maybe grace is being able to release your grip on how we think the story is supposed to end and trust that what’s meant for you will be yours either way.

a song for the bonus in your life 🥹🔥

12 DAYS.
✍🏼TRACK 12: TWINFLAMES
wholeness.

after coming out of an unhealthy relationship and eventually learning how to genuinely be alone, meeting my now-boyfriend showed me the difference between needing someone and choosing them.

by the time he came into my life, I knew I could be whole on my own. I didn’t need another person to complete me or make me happy.

but I wanted him.

because he added to the life I had already learned to love on my own. he made it better. and for the first time, that felt like true partnership to me.

maybe finding your person isn’t about finding your missing half. maybe it’s two whole people choosing to walk beside each other. 🤍🔥

you don’t love me? okay… sure. 😉

13 DAYS.
✍🏼TRACK 13: YOU DON’T LOVE
recognition.

YOU DON’T LOVE is about calling someone’s bluff. when they think they have everything perfectly under control on the outside: detached, unaffected, definitely NOT falling for you 😂 but you can see straight through the shell they’ve built around themselves.

sometimes people are so busy trying to convince themselves they don’t care that they don’t realize their actions are telling a completely different story.
one of the most valuable lessons is learning to recognize what’s underneath the surface. not just listening to what someone says, but paying attention to what they show you. even when they haven’t figured out how to admit it to themselves yet.

if u met ur ex for the first time today, would u still fall for each other? ⏳

17 DAYS
✍🏼TRACK 17: WHEN WE WERE OLDER
compassion.

one of the strangest parts of growing up is looking back at a relationship through the eyes of the person you are now. I know how much I’ve changed since then but I don’t really know who he became. did he grow too? If we met now as these older versions of ourselves, would we communicate differently, love each other better and finally get it right? or would we not even be attracted to each other? it makes u wonder if there’s another timeline where we met when we were older and it all worked out differently. or maybe we were always destined to outgrow each other. that’s where the compassion in this song lives for me. with enough distance, I don’t need either of us to be the villain. I can look back at who we were and have a little more grace for both of us while still being at peace with who we became apart. 🥹
