@thebasechicago wants to share this beautiful story. 6 years ago @jamesvswrld2_0 sadly lost his family members, @traceybrim and @frank_brim took this young man into their home and raised him like a grandson. He didn't just receive Frank and Tracey's love, he received the #LOVE & #SUPPORT of the Brim Family. So, today congratulations to @jamesvswrld2_0 and the Brim family as James follows in the foot steps of his Papa @frank_brim as a @chicagofiredept Fire Fighter. 🔥🙏🏽😊 #thebaseway❤️

🤩 Member Spotlight - Patrice Brim 1. What class time(s) do you most often attend? The class times I attend are either 9:15 am or 4 pm 2. What do you do for a living? My occupation is a Children’s Animation Creator. If you have young kids, be sure to check us out. Search Jools TV on YouTube. Remember to like, share, and subscribe. https://www.youtube.com/@joolstv_ 3. What is your favorite food, color, and animal? My favorite food is sweet plantains! My favorite color is green—specifically Kelly green. My favorite animal is the cheetah because it is the fastest land animal. 4. What is your favorite activity/hobby outside of CrossFit? My favorite hobby outside of CrossFit is baking my famous chocolate chip cookies and playing any outdoor sports with my boys! 5. Why did you decide to join CrossFit? I started CrossFit to lose the baby weight after my fourth child. I searched for the nearest gym and found one just a block and a half from my house, so I had no excuse not to go. 6. What have you accomplished in CrossFit that at the start you thought you would never be able to do? I accomplished being able to do push-ups and 1 strict pull-up (I got my first strict pull-up 2 weeks ago) 7. How has CrossFit helped you in your personal life? CrossFit has helped me deal with my grief and help manage my emotions. 8. What are your CrossFit goals for this year? This year, my CrossFit goals are to learn gymnastics movements like chest-to-bar, bar muscle-ups, handstand push-ups, and handstand walks. 9. What keeps you motivated during a WOD? My children keep me motivated during WOD’s. I am a boy mama to 5, and they are all very active, so I always want to be fit to keep up with them — no excuses! 10. Any advice for beginners? My advice for beginners is simple: just show up! There are things in life you can’t control, but you can control yourself. Hold yourself accountable and be present.
