“I don’t get numb. It bothers me every single time.”

For @ddilardtv covering stories about police brutality and the loss of Black lives is never just another day at work. It hits differently when you’re part of the community behind the headlines.

But as difficult as it is to keep seeing these stories unfold, journalists have a responsibility to tell the FULL story, ask the hard questions, and look beyond the initial police narrative.

As we saw with George Floyd, sometimes the video reveals what the first report leaves out.

We asked @ddillardtv what type of praiser is he and he said he can’t compete with Bishop @brandonjacobssr but uhhh from the looks of it… He got it 🔥😂 what yall think? He was being humble?

And this was just the first of many questions lol we got all in his business on the latest episode of @theepkpod comment DILLARD & we will send you the full episode or click the link in bio.

“I choose to spare y’all. But if it get like that, it can get like that!” 😭😂

@ddillardtv said, “I’m still holy too!” and we heard you LOUD AND CLEAR!

But honestly, this conversation raises a real question: how do you show up unapologetically in your faith while navigating corporate spaces that may not always understand it?

For him, it’s about knowing there’s a time and place for everything without feeling the need to hide who he is or what he believes. You don’t have to compromise your faith to be professional, and you don’t have to turn every room into a church service to let people know where you stand. 😂🙌🏾

Now, we want to hear from you: Have you ever felt like you had to tone down your faith at work?👇

🗣️every pastor is not a scammer.🤦🏽‍♀️
Some of y’all have watched one pastor buy a jet and decided every pastor is taking the offering home. That’s not the story for most shepherds.

Most pastors are working two jobs, covering church bills out of pocket, and showing up at the hospital at 2am to pray for your family yet somehow you expect them to stay broke to prove they’re holy?

Its Clergy Appreciation Month. Before you assume, pray. open your Bible. read 1 Timothy 5:17 and Galatians 6:6 and ask God how YOU should honor the leader who covers you!

Signed, a PK who’s been sharing her parents with the world her whole life & knows how much they give without expecting a thing in return.

drop a 🙏🏾 if your pastor deserves their flowers this month.

WHO SAID YOU HAVE TO SACRIFICE YOUR FEMININITY TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY? 👀

@dririshea is standing ten toes down on this one! Being in a male-dominated field doesn’t mean she has to change who she is to fit in. The hair, the makeup, the dresses, the pantsuits? She’s wearing what makes HER comfortable.

But what really stood out? She understands that different generations see leadership differently, especially in the church. So she knows how to balance her personal style with the expectations of the people she leads, without losing herself in the process.

And that line? “There’s a generation that people look at you before they hear you.” Whew. That’s a conversation on its own!

Do you think women in leadership are judged more by how they look than by what they bring to the table? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇🏾

Leah AND Deborah? @dririshea said put her in the middle of these women 🔥👏🏾 and gave us a WORD!! Mind you this is on the spot 🤯 if I was in HTX I’d be @newlightcc 🙌🏾

One woman knew what it felt like to be unloved, yet her story produced something extraordinary. The other led with so much wisdom and strength that men wouldn’t go to war without her.

And that’s the thing about these women in the Bible. There’s SO much more to their stories than we sometimes realize.

Now, imagine being on a plane with BOTH of them. The conversations? THE QUESTIONS? The life lessons? phew! We might need that flight to be international. 😂

Now, if you had a first-class seat next to ANY two Bible characters (Jesus is off limits 🙃), who would you choose? And what would you want to ask them?

We want to hear your picks in the comments! 👇🏾

If you don’t denounce your sorority, you’re not saved? 👀 Let’s talk about it!

We asked @dririshea the question people keep dancing around. Why are so many people suddenly denouncing their fraternities/sororities, and how much of it is genuine conviction versus what’s trending on social media?🤔

And here’s where it gets interesting: if we’re calling everything else idolatry, what happens when we put a “God label” on the very things we promote ourselves?

Whew😅 This one requires more than a quick opinion. It requires discernment, self-reflection, and an actual relationship with God.

But we want to hear from you: Do you think people are acting out of personal conviction or social media pressure? Let’s talk in the comments!👇

🗣️CHURCH IS A BUSINESS. FEMININITY IS NOT A WEAKNESS. AND NO, YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE YOUR PARENTS. 👀👏🏾

@dririshea let @theepkpod stop by @newlightcc for a much needed conversation🙌🏾

From the business side of ministry to leading with your femininity, building a legacy that’s truly yours, and knowing exactly what you will and will NOT tolerate in a relationship…

And that little moment about being a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta?

🗣️SHE SAID WHAT SHE SAID! PERIOD. ❤️

But listen, this is just the preview👀 The full conversation is a whole different story!

“God, I’m disappointed, but You’re still good.”

How do you keep praising God when life hands you a kind of pain you never imagined you’d have to carry?

For @yagirl_soph losing her mother right after losing her grandmother tested her faith in a way she never expected. But even through the tears, she found herself declaring that God was still good and that she still trusted Him.

Sometimes, faith isn’t about understanding what God allows. It’s about holding on to who He is, even when your heart is breaking.

Have you ever had to praise God while you were still hurting? ❤️‍🩹
