October is #filipinoamericanhistorymonth 🇵🇭✨

Being the first in my family born in the U.S., I’m so proud of my roots and even more grateful that I get to pass our culture, traditions, food, and stories down to my kids. 🍚

From our very real love of karaoke 😂🎤 My kids and I LOVE to sing and dance, so honestly, that stereotype is very much alive and well in our house. 🤭 To my taho cravings every time I’m in the Philippines, it’s the little things.🧋😋

This past January, I also got to take my husband to the Philippines and show him where my family comes from, which was incredibly special.

Now I’m excited to take my kids to see ‘Forgotten Island’ and let them see Filipino culture represented on the big screen. Representation matters, especially for our kids. 🇵🇭🤍

Growing up, we didn’t always get to see ourselves reflected like this, so seeing Filipino stories celebrated in such a big way feels pretty special.

That same love for culture and representation carries into my work too and also a huge part of why I love photographing weddings. One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is seeing couples honor their heritage, traditions, and families in ways that feel uniquely theirs.

I’m a Proud Filipina. Proud Filipina-owned business creating space for stories, cultures, and traditions to be seen, felt, represented, and remembered. ✨

One of the greatest gifts of being a wedding planner is the relationships I’m able to build with my couples along the way. I’m incredibly grateful to every client who trusts me to be part of such a meaningful and important day in their lives.

Sometimes during a wedding, a vendor will come up to me and ask, “Are you friends with the couple?” because they see how naturally we interact, or how genuinely I care for them and their day. They’re often surprised when I tell them that we were connected through a referral or that they found me through my work online.

But that’s exactly what makes this journey so special to me. My clients may begin as people who trusted me with their wedding, but they become people I genuinely care about long after the wedding day. Couples like Megan and LJ are such a beautiful reminder of why I continue to do what I do. I’m so thankful for the trust they placed in me, for allowing me into such a special season of their lives, and for the relationships that come from this work. It’s an honor I never take for granted.🥰

This stunning wedding at VEA Newport Beach was the perfect blend of elegance, beauty, and meaningful Persian traditions.

During the Persian ceremony at Sofreh Aghd, married female relatives held a canopy above the couple while grinding sugar cones together, showering them with sweetness and symbolizing a sweet life and a beautiful future together.

From the ceremony to the reception, every detail was thoughtfully and beautifully designed by Maria and her incredible team at Modest Magnolia. It was an unforgettable celebration filled with so much beauty, love, and tradition.
