COVID gave me a garage gym and a husband to lift with — but I needed something that felt more me. That’s when I found pole. 🪩 I was instantly drawn to the femininity of it — but lowkey intimidated by everything else. I couldn’t do a body roll. My hands were always sweaty. Flexibility? What flexibility? 😅 Tricks were not my friends. Then I started learning choreo — and something clicked. I finally felt like a baddie. That feeling? That’s what I’m chasing every time I step in the studio. Now I teach pole and flexibility at @lovehouse.la & @embracedancestudios, perform with fire troupe @thefiremingos, and coach bodies toward shapes they didn’t know they could make. My classes are technique-first, body-positive, and always a little extra. What started as a fun party trick grew into community, movement, art, and travel 🔥🪄 My first LIB was 2017. I remember seeing a dragon staff for the first time and being completely intrigued — and completely intimidated. A friend handed me one of his sticks to carry around for the night. I brought it to every set. That was the moment I discovered flow. I didn’t know what I was doing - but I was doing SOMETHING 🤔 When we got home he helped me build a practice dragon staff out of PVC pipes so I could figure out if I actually liked it, if it was something I would stick with. I loved it. And it STUCK.
