How do you measure success? It’s not only the finish line, it matters so much how you get there! I want to share with you the conversation I have with my clients in our brainstorming session. Different kinds of goals, types of measurements, how to set yourself up for success, and more. Here’s part one: 📈For starters you need to decide on a specific goal! Saying you want to feel or look healthier is too vague. You will only set your self up for failure. It can be outcome based: lose/ gain X pounds by A certain date. It can be performance based: perform X amount of pull-ups or deadlift Z amount of weight. Got it? Now ask yourself: -what are you willing to do to achieve this goal? -what are you not willing to do, and why? 📉Your goal needs to be measurable. Spoiler alert, it doesn’t need to be total body weight. It can be circumference measurements. It can be measured in time, load, hell even just being able to increase your frequency of workout per week. Goals can be adaptable to your level of fitness! I just started a strength program. I am working towards performance goals. While my aesthetics are not the main measurement, I am a visual person. A picture can show me my progress in ways, that maybe numbers can’t. So here’s my just having fun pic. Stay tuned for part two where I go over behavior based goals and implementation intentions to support the overarching outcome based goal. Need help reaching your goal? Send me a message, I’d love to help you 💜 . #nasmcertified #nasm #nasmcpt #behaviorcoach #healthcoach #strength #goalsetting #owingsmd #calvertcounty #calvertcountymd #momsgonestrong #momlife #momof4 #momswithmuscles

🏋🏽‍♀️Back from vacation and back to work! While I enjoyed the time away, I missed my workouts. Roller derby & strength training are my stress management strategies. Roller derby is a community of strong ass women who are working to carve out time to get knocked around. We feel badass when we’re able to hold our own on the track, and when we fall, we know our team is there waiting for us to get back up. Workouts (whether it’s my garage, a fitness class, or the free weights) are my time to focus on ME, and work on my MY goals. I recharge mentally seeing how strong I am. I’m not looking to be perfect. Each time I’m learning and progressing.
