Five years today since Peckham’s Finest first aired. Where has the time gone? 😅

Looking through these memories has brought back so much. I was so excited to be part of it, and I made some amazing friends along the way, from the production team and crew to my fellow cast members.

There were parts I struggled with. I sometimes wished more of my work had been shown alongside my relationship with Alex. I felt a real weight of responsibility to represent both my Jamaican/Nigerian heritage and my queer community authentically. Not sensationalised, not stereotyped, but seen for who we really are.

With a bit of distance, I can appreciate that sharing mine and Alex’s story mattered too. Especially as a Black queer man navigating love, heartbreak and all the everyday complexities of life. Because our stories deserve to be told too.

And then there’s my beautiful mother…

Supporting me, having opinions about my love life and being very much herself! We didn’t know she had cancer while we were filming. I lost her in 2022, so having these moments with her means everything. Her voice, her laugh, the way she loved me because for every narrative that suggests Black Caribbean families cannot embrace their queer children, there’s another story. One of love, acceptance, laughter, support and unconditional pride.

My mum left me many things, but through Peckham’s Finest, she also left me something I can watch forever. A living reminder of her voice, her personality and, above all, her love for me.

Five years on, life looks very different. I’ve experienced loss, growth, heartbreak, incredible opportunities and moments I once could only have dreamed of. I’ve continued building spaces, championing talent and celebrating the communities that raised me.

I didn’t always appreciate what we were creating at the time. But today, I see it differently. What started as a television show became a time capsule of my life, my family, my community and a version of myself I’ll always hold close. For that, I’ll always be grateful!

Is Nigerian food worth having?

I was filming some content in Peckham, South London & I knew I wanted to try some food that I’d never had before.

What started off as me wanting a few clips for my video, turned into one of the best food experiences I’ve ever had.

Different foods kept coming, from chicken wings, chicken gizzards, Nigerian Fanta, Rum Punch & their Jollof box. I couldn’t fault any of it, the food or the service.

@theflygerians could not have done more for me & the food was 10/10. Thank you so much 🙏🏼 🇳🇬

I won!!

Honoured to have won the Head Office Impact Award at the @beinclusivehospitality Spotlight Awards on Monday.

Such a special evening, surrounded by so many incredible people doing amazing things to make our industry better and more inclusive, and that is definitely something to be celebrated.

What a night!
So honoured to have been a Finalist for Bar/Pub of the Year at the BIH Spotlight Awards 2026, celebrating alongside so many incredible people shaping the future of hospitality.

As the UK’s only Haitian restaurant bar, standing among these finalists means the world to us. While we didn’t take home the award, the experience, the community, and the celebration of diversity made it an unforgettable evening.

We did it! House of MOBO has been named Bar/Pub of the Year at the 2026 Be Inclusive Hospitality Spotlight Awards! 🏆❤️

This one means so much to us. From the beginning, the vision for House of MOBO has always been about creating more than just a venue. A space where everyone feels welcome, where people can come together, connect and enjoy great food, music and culture.

A special moment in last night’s acceptance speech as we paid tribute to our Founder, Kanya King CBE, whose vision and determination made House of MOBO possible.

A huge thank you to Greene King, The Flygerians and our incredible House of MOBO team for everything they do to bring that vision to life every day. And of course, to everyone who has walked through our doors and supported us along the way.

People will hate me for this. But London is safe 🤷🏻‍♂️

A lot of people told me not to take my camera to South London.

Out of all of the places I’ve been in London so far, the south has some of the friendliest & warmest people I’ve come across.

I went for coffee, explored the shops, tried Nigerian food for the first time (video on the way) & then finished off with a pint. 10/10 day.

Filming content on my camera or phone was no problem at all ✌🏻
