Chicago, thank you ✨🏀

Thank you to everyone who packed @babesinchicago on a snowy Sunday night to celebrate EJ Lee and join us for the first-ever sneak peek of our documentary. Your energy, your feedback, and your love for EJ and women’s basketball meant the world to us.

🎟️ We raffled 20 incredible items donated by our community, @chicagosky @togethxr @atouchmore @babesinchicago @roughnotes.mgs @kartemquin @the_serious_goose @patchwork.sky @jazonvinylart @leifjlee @homecourtcollective @yipfitness , and together we sold 58 cocktails to benefit @leagueoftheirownchi and the @hpsolidaritynetwork . We’re grateful to everyone who donated, entered, and helped make this possible.

🎤 Thank you to our panelists @zoesua @roughnotes.mgs @yongshuling @goldandapaiger for sharing your insights and to @hrsouffrant for moderating the panel and community feedback discussion.

🎧 And thank you to @momamimusic for closing out the night so beautifully.

🙏 Thankful to all our partners, collaborators, artists, and organizers who made this event happen. Along with the above mentioned partners, we also want to thank @novel.pizza @noramcjo @amramire @lastfinalfinal.psd @tenderfruit.studio @cai_fyi @sweet_birthday_baby @justnianiania Lily Qi, the Babe’s staff, and every single member of the EJ Lee film team.

👑 And because we believe honoring EJ’s story is honoring women’s basketball history, we were so glad that special guests Cathy Boswell (Olympic Gold Medalist, Hall of Famer) @cathyboswell_hof_ and Ethel ‘Poco’ White (WBL’s Chicago Hustle) could join us and be spotlighted during the event. Thank you to @roughnotes.mgs for helping fans learn more about Cathy and Ethel’s career—women’s hoops is where it is today because of pioneers like Ethel, Cathy and EJ.

Your support truly motivates us to keep going, to finish this film with the care and depth EJ deserves. If you’d like to support the completion of the documentary, tax-deductible donations to our fiscal sponsor are still open at the link in our bio. Every contribution helps us to finish the remaining 15% of production and continue the editing phase 🎬💛

Still buzzing from an unforgettable time at EXPO Chicago! Honored to live paint during the VIP experience alongside talents like @hebrubrantley and @mazetheartist as we celebrated @theoldgspirit. Big shoutout to @jonn3deepchi and thank you to the entire Wincreek Casino @zhacasanova team for the love and opportunity!

Grateful to support The 4Arts Men—witnessing @dwhite.originals induction as a Flourish Fellow and @legomyedo artist talk with @framechicago was inspiring. Major love to @blenartistryllc for his powerful live painting event too! The most impactful part of it all was how young people were able to be given tours by these great artist and take in first hand advice of what it takes to be a full time creative.

Every moment reminded me how blessed I am to live this art life.

Special Thanks & Shoutouts:
@uchicagogirl for being a boss.
@kenneydoug for trusting these adventures.
@j.boddie_ for always popping up at the right time.
@lonniexedwards & @inarigold for staying late and being great!

Let’s keep rising, creating, and celebrating the culture.

Everyday I take my parents down Lincoln to get my daily treats. Every day, we stop at @theframeshopchicago for a cookie. Every single day, my parents forget to bring their phones for a picture.

But not yesterday! Yesterday, I finally got my picture, and I can finally show my appreciation for @theframeshopchicago for always having cookies out! 🍪😍

In honor of #mlb Opening Day we would like to share our newest piece to our wall.

Last year for the Crosstown Classic, we were gifted by @whitesox this beautiful jersey. We had it framed and proudly hung on our wall for all to see.

We thank @whitesox for taking the time and consideration for this generous gift. It hangs with pride!

Let’s play ball!! ⚾️
Go Sox!!🖤🤍

The other week I stopped by The Frame Shop at 3838 N. Ashland and had the pleasure of meeting Jakob and Éli and learning about their work. The Frame Shop opened in this location in the ward over the summer and is excited to be in the neighborhood! They specialize in art prints and custom frames and are an official printer for the CTA and preservation Chicago.
