Bikes have meant different things at different stages of my life: freedom as a kid, transportation in NYC, and then some racing. Now, riding bikes is a way to push back against autoimmune disease.

Yesterday was my first USAC road race in 10 years. I almost didn’t make the start because my shifter batteries died. Thankfully, a kind stranger, Nico (who ended up winning) used a spoon to help me pop the caps off and swap them minutes before the gun.

So up I went on my gravel bike (because I no longer own a road bike): 20 miles, 6,000 ft of climbing. I felt slow, but steady.

If you wait until you “feel better” or “get stronger,” you might never start. Sometimes you just go with what you’ve got and let the experience change you. ✨

Thank you, Nico from @butcherboxcycling! Gratitude to the Mt. Graham race director, and organizers. And big thanks to @littlegravelcrusher, @startlinecollective, + @projectsavethemall. 🙏 Couldn’t have raced without your support.

Taking a moment to pause and sit down can be a surprisingly powerful tool for discovery —

@heatharning (our host) featured on the cover of Photographer magazine photographed by, none other than, @curtis_sprague (who also pitched in and cooked for us and @d3stroycyclingclub ). Give both these guys a follow and ask how this cover shot was won!!!

What an AMAZING set of humans! And what an AMAZING time we had @tulsa_tough!

2026 @americancancersociety @phillybike Bridge To Beach

This year was only 100 miles, but with the donation from @eurofinsglobal we helped raise almost $2,200 to help the fight against cancer. Thank you everyone for the support and donations can still be made until the end of August.

It was a tough day on the bike, but so much fun as always. Finding the @manilacafe.nj was the perfect stop on the way home to pick up all kinds of goodies.
