11 years ago today…

Compton Revival The Game dropped his 6th Studio Album “The Documentary 2,” an album served as a significant project in The Game’s discography, continuing the legacy of his iconic debut album, “The Documentary.” The album was released on October 9, 2015 through Blood Money Entertainment, Fifth Amendment Entertainment, & eOne Music. It would debut at No. 2 on the #BillBoard200 & No.1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Charts, the Top Rap Albums & the Independent Albums Charts.

The project delves into themes of gang culture, personal struggles, & the complexities of life in LA. Musically, the album combines contemporary Hip-Hop beats with West Coast influences, emphasizing The Game’s roots. It received positive reviews from critics for its production quality & the depth of its content, reinforcing The Game’s position as a top artist in Hip-Hop. “The Documentary 2” not only showcases its reflection on The Game’s journey in Hip-Hop but his growth as a spitter as well.

I was 35 when this dropped & this was The Game album I was waiting for. As mentioned before it had that modern Hip-Hop sound to it but was reminiscent of golden-era Hip-Hop as well. He meshed the 2 great & had me tolerating new age artists like Drake & Future. It has a bit of a darker tone than his debut with more soulful samples & melodic hooks. My favorite tracks have to be “On Me” with Kendrick Lamar, “Don’t Trip” with Ice Cube, Dr. Dre & will.i.am & the DJ Premier beat album title “The Documentary 2.” I played this album & the Documentary 2.5 album so much upon its release. I have the CD’s as well. It was a breath of fresh air I was looking for.

In possession of this sealed Red Vinyl Limited Edition pressing. Looking to do a vinyl unwrapping video edit.

Take time to play this classic today!
