to my dupree dance family, i can’t thank yall enough for the past 3 years. being a part of this incredible team has been everything i could have asked for and more. i could not thank @kdanceanderson and @tmitchell227 enough for allowing me the opportunities i was able to have, despite my difficult obstacles with an injury. thank you to every single staff and faculty member for guiding me and being there for me during my time with you all. to my fellow collectives/leads, i love you guys so much. i am so so thankful for the friendships i have created, they will last a lifetime! dupree will be my forever family and i thank God everyday for this incredible experience🫶🏻

wow!!! what an insanely challenging, yet rewarding 10 months this has been. i am still in disbelief that it’s all over, and that i’m not just on a break, waiting to fly back to northampton. 🥹

i’m still at a loss for words when it comes to this program. it has not only transformed me as a dancer, but as a human too. i mean, i moved 1,000 miles away to a small town in massachusetts! it was a big leap, but i’m so glad that i took it. the friendships and memories i have gained here are invaluable, and i will carry each lesson that i learned with me forever. i cannot thank @teddyforance enough for having this dream, and for sharing it with the rest of us. i have been extremely lucky to witness and take part in the magic that is held within these walls. i hope to never forget it. ✨

to all of cy5, being in a room with 250+ other students who share the same passion as you every day is such a gift. you are all insanely talented, hard working, and beautiful humans. you have all pushed me to be a better version of myself, and for that i’m forever grateful. i will miss this community immensely, but i know we’ll meet again. 🫂♾️

i have watched this program grow from its beginnings, and had counted down the days until it was my turn to audition. i dreamed of coming to cli for years, but i could never have imagined what it would actually give me. i have gained such a deeper understanding of who i am, my artistry, my values, and most importantly, my heart. to say i’m proud of myself is an understatement. i’m proud of every early morning, every audition, and every setback that challenged me to keep going. i’m proud of the work i put in, the resilience i found, and of my body for carrying me through it all. 🫀

My time at CLI…

I honestly don’t know what else to say. This place changed me in every aspect of my life. Joining Year 5 of CLI was the best decision I’ve ever made.

I learned what it truly means to love and be loved in so many different ways. I learned that growth isn’t linear, and that the difficult moments are just as important as the victories. I gained so much knowledge about this industry, but even more importantly, I learned so much about myself. I’ll always be grateful for this experience.

To @teddyforance : Thank you for seeing something in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of this program. It has genuinely changed my life, and I can’t thank you enough for believing in me.

To @nichols14 Thank you for understanding the way I move. From the very first class, I knew you were a choreographer with a vision, and you proved that over and over again. Your perspective on performance, storytelling, and this industry is something every dancer should experience. You’re truly a legend.

To @riileywaatts : My teacher, mentor, and improv partner. I’m incredibly grateful to have trained and danced alongside you. Every time we dance together, it feels like we’re speaking the same language—something I’ve never experienced before. Thank you for bringing so much intention, care, and thoughtfulness into every class and every student you teach. The dance world needs more artists, teachers, and people like you.

To the boys: Thank you for being some of the most talented, genuine, and hilarious people I’ve ever met. Every rehearsal, every conversation, and every laugh meant more than you know. I’m so grateful I got to share this experience with all of you.

Well… that’s a wrap on CY5. Somehow it feels like we just got here, and somehow we made enough memories to last a lifetime. To every teacher who believed in me, challenged me, and helped me grow into the artist I’m becoming, thank you.
A special thank you to @teddyforance. Thank you for taking a chance on me. You saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself, and I’ll never stop being grateful for that. I truly don’t know where I’d be without you. 🤍And to every friend I met along the way thanks for making this year one I’ll never stop talking about. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to cover it, but I’m so excited to spend the summer here as an assistant and keep making memories before we all go chase our dreams.
I already can’t wait for the day we’re all back together, catching up like no time has passed. ❤️

Cy5….i think I can say if we all sat in one big circle I could go around knowing every single one of y’all’s name, and tell you something incredible I’ve seen you do this year. I remeber that first day meeting everyone and experience our first Teddy class together, we were all pulled through the wringer together, but the point was that we did it together, and that’s when I knew that no matter how tough the week was I’d have others to go through it with. The community we created it something I will never take for granted, there is truly nothing else that will compare to what we had. Everyone supported everyone no matter what the circumstances, it was never quiet on the sides of the rooms. There were always people cheering for others. I made so many amazing friends and made so many memories at CLI that I will hold so dearly in my heart. I wouldn’t be the human I am today without everyone’s love and friendship throughout the year. Every single one of you are so insanely talented and I can’t wait to watch y’all do amazing things!

To all the resident falculty, @nichols14 , Rilly Watts, @stephshumway , @jennip1021 , @caseygonzo , and @kia_thekey . I would not be the dancer i am today without every single one of you guys. I fear i would still be stiff as a board without @kia_thekey hiphop fundamentals class. Every teacher believed in me and supported me in this journey and i wouldn’t have been able to do it without them! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything🤍

Last but not least, I’d like to give one last thank you to Teddy, for creating this program, you have created something so special and you’re changing the future of dance. So many dancers are going to go out into the dance world a better dancer, including me, because of your support. I’m forever grateful you and Cy5.

CY5 BATTLE💥
I had the opportunity to participate in a dance battle hosted by @whosyourkuya , with my friend @thegldnboy . It was so much fun getting to share our love for tap and bring a different style to the floor. It felt amazing getting to share the floor with Lucas and create sound together, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.🙂‍↕️🫶 Everyone was so insanely talented and I left feeling so inspired. Huge shoutout and thanks to the judges @kia_thekey , @nichols14 , and Riley watts y’all are amazing. 🤍
