Your one-stop shop for energising benefits: @gregfreyjr’s Potassium Broth

The broth is built from filtered water and crushed tomatoes, then steeped for about an hour with the trimmings and peelings of the season’s vegetables.

Each guest at @thegoldendoor then finishes it their own way with chilli flake, ground oats, flaxseed and the kitchen’s golden powder.

I stepped into my own kitchen to find out whether I could cook.

No lab coat or podcast guest. Just me, a pot of soup, and one question: what’s the worst that could happen?
Mostly laughter, it turns out.

@gregfreyjr taught me this recipe at @thegoldendoor, and he made it look effortless. I’ll be trying it again when the cameras are off and I can focus on this tasty recipe.

After months of filming in labs and clinics, this was a gentle reminder that health doesn’t only happen in research. Sometimes it happens at the kitchen counter, laughing at yourself.

A little fire, a little truffle, and a whole lot of heart. 🍄🔥🤍

Still smiling after yesterday’s Celebrate the Craft at The Lodge at Torrey Pines @lodgetorreypines . Sharing my food alongside so many talented chefs and local producers was such a joy.

On my menu: Ember Roasted Gochujang Mushrooms with smoky romesco, avocado mousse, and a crispy polenta tartlet, finished with freshly shaved truffles. A little bite with a big personality. 😉

Thank you, Jack Ford @whatsupwithjack and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, for including me in this year’s celebration and giving me a place at the table.

So much love to my friends at Windansea Coconuts @windansea.coconuts for keeping everyone refreshed with coconuts branded just for me—such a fun, personal touch! 🥥 And to @specialtyproduce @seasgreens and @stehlyfarms for the beautiful produce that helped bring this dish to life.

Last, but certainly not least, my chef friends @taylormartinfunk @gastro.papi @raulis_acd who showed up, jumped in, and helped make it all happen: I’m so grateful for your time, talent, and friendship. The best part of cooking is the people you get to share it with. Love you, team. 🤍

Soup season is here!🥣

But this one's special as this Potassium Broth by @gregfreyjr, came all the way from @thegoldendoor in Southern California, one of the world’s original wellness retreats.

Food sits at the heart of Golden Door and much of what the guests eat is grown in the resort’s own gardens, and for more than 60 years guests have paused between classes for one quiet tradition: a warm cup of potassium broth.

Inspired by that visit, Méline tried making Chef Greg’s Potassium Broth at home, a nourishing ritual rooted in the idea that wellness begins with consistency, care, and the foundations we often overlook. (Another reason we love this place: all of Golden Door’s net profits go towards ending child abuse.)

In a world obsessed with technology, there’s something powerful about purely nourishing our humanware and going back to basics.

I met Selma Blair at the Golden Door shortly after Covid and we clicked right away. We laughed, shared stories and she even let me take a whole photo shoot with her on my iPhone. She lifted my spirits when I needed it most and I’ve never forgotten her generosity, humor and friendship. Sending her love and hoping she gets through this difficult time.

We’re so excited to be hosting a special dinner with Golden Door Chef Greg Frey, Jr to celebrate his new cookbook. This intimate multi-course collab dinner with Chef Ludo has just one seating, so reservations are limited, and are available at the link in our bio.

Congratulations are in order for my friend @gregfreyjr of @thegoldendoor on his new cookbook. The Golden Door has provided me a space to recapture my breath many times over the years. Greg’s cooking has always been an important part of my journey. Can’t wait to cook some recipes at home.

STAY TUNED for information on Greg’s cookbook dinner at @petittroisla coming SOON.
