PUBLIC SERVICE, PRIVATE PARTS was performed last night. ❤️ Not sitting in a notebook of ideas. Not being developed. Not waiting for the right moment. Performed. In front of people. I took a story that I couldn’t let go of, found the form it needed, wrote it, and last night people sat in a room and heard it. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who came out and supported us, to Kelly and Karman for their great work and collaboration, and especially to Juliette for trusting me with her story. Sometimes a “what if…” can become “wow, we did that.” I’ll let myself sit with that…. after I nap. 😆❤️🙏

@writers_round_la was such a great time. And what a joy to share my the round with the @ronkeakoh - such a thoughtful and captivating artist. Thank u @thebroadwayb 🎙️ Photos by @karmankruschkephoto (@thegoodkarman ) - it’s nice when a friend comes to the show who also happens to be a professional photography.😮Thank you for capturing these moments! I played the title track of my new album ‘Watch It Fall,’ then ‘Tomb (walked away),’ and finished off with a brand new song (which is next up for me to record) called ‘Sideways.’ #writersround #songwritersofinstagram #livemusic #sing #losangeleslivemusic

This was a fun song to end the show with. Such a blast to play it with the band and also have Karman Jeanne join us for the finale! “Let Me In” is a song about following your inner voice which is not always easy to hear in a loud world. It is Track 9 on ‘Watch It Fall.’ Lynn Coulter - drums Phil Parlapiano - keyboard Steve Nelson - bass Craig Stull - electric guitar #livemusic #singersongwriter #folkpop #reggavibes #losangeleslivemusic

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem @ the Long Beach Coast @lbcoastbaseball season closer as @electricmoon.foundation was being honored & recognized. . I’d always envisioned doing this in Detroit @tigers where my Grandfather Arthur would take us to Tiger Stadium as a Little One. This moment was to follow a performance of “The Wild Zone” with some of the incredible youth from our @electricmoon.foundation Programs @themidnightmission We got rained out & they asked me back the next day. . I realize most of you will watch maybe 3 seconds of this & scroll on by to a good lookin’ tuna fish sandwich. Though, if you watch until the end you’ll discover a quiet message. I simply could not sing this song with a straight face & I had something on my mind. Artists have a unique opportunity & a responsibility. We have microphones. Afterall, this song was intended for all of us & I agreed to sing it, but I just had to sing it for everyone. It’s far from perfect & it’s got flaws, but if my Grandfather is looking down & smiling, I’m good with that. . Thank You @lbcoastbaseball for this opportunity, but mostly Thank You for giving the @electricmoon.foundation @themidnightmission youth a chance to Shine. . Detroit @tigers if you need me, I’ll be ready! . Thank You for listening…if you did.
