I remember how much it meant to have people who encouraged me, believed in my voice and reminded me that my dreams were possible. Now, I get to pour that same encouragement into the next generation. 👌🏾🌱

Mentorship isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about showing up, sharing what you’ve learned and helping someone else recognize that God Given Gift already inside of them. 🫆

I’m looking forward to being around more tables where opportunities to mentor, speak with and support emerging artists and young creatives as they discover the power of their own voices. 🙌🏾

A different side of me: Artist, Leader and Mentor. 💚

This Spring, I had the opportunity to step into a mentorship role with @thegreenprintnetwork sharing what I’ve learned in the years of being an independent artist, offering guidance and helping someone else recognize the potential already within them.

One of my favourite parts was hearing her feedback at the end. She told me she appreciated that I listened, never made her feel bossed around, brought ideas she genuinely liked, and led in a way that still allowed her to be herself. She also said I was “swaggy” 😂🤪 I’ll take it!

Leadership isn’t always about having every answer. Sometimes, it’s about listening, encouraging and creating a safe space for someone else to grow. 🌱

Grateful for the opportunity to pour into the next generation. This is a role I’d love to continue growing in. 🌱… 🪴

When I decided to take my music career seriously I didn’t know anything about the industry and I didn’t know anyone in the industry. I just went for it and learned along the way with my friends supporting me. When I met @maheezi one thing I told him was that I really want to become a mentor and to help with artist development once we figured things out. I’m still figuring it out but I believe I know enough to start on that journey and being at mentor @thegreenprintnetwork was honestly so rewarding and I’m just so happy I was able to witness these high school students follow their passion and create something beautiful. The best part of this is the fact that I grew up in Jane and Finch before moving to Brampton so it was nice giving back to that community. 🫶🏾

Every year, these students remind me why mentorship matters. Watching kids from my neighbourhood find their voice, build confidence, and take up space in their artistry is something I’ll never take for granted.

I couldn’t have asked for a better co-judge @sydanieee 🤍 - some BTS of the audition process for Art on My Mind 🌟
there were SO many talented people that performed for us, so this is just a tiny taste! (Y’all made it real hard to choose ONLY 4 😩)

Art on My Mind 2026 by @thegoldfarbgallery welcomes Toronto-based recording artist, educator, and founder of @thegreenprintnetwork, KIBRA as this year’s lead facilitator. The program selects four emerging singers to take part in an incubator-style creative experience centred on live performance, artist development, and collaboration. Participants will work closely with Kibra, her live music director @raetienna, and @yournextfaveband band to deepen their artistry, strengthen their stage presence, and build more meaningful connections with audiences through live music performance. The program will culminate with a live performance opportunity this summer. Stay tuned to learn more!

Flashing back to our #HoneyJam30 interview with the incredible @kibramusic, an emerging R&B/Soul artist, and the powerhouse founder of @thegreenprintnetwork.

Not only did Kibra share how her Creative Writing & Performance 101 program is giving youth a safe space to create, we also heard firsthand from Greenprint participant Diana on the impact it’s had. 💫

And because we believe in giving women their flowers 🌸, Kibra recently won a Canadian Screen Music Award for Best Original Song (“Angel Shot” from Trapped in the Spotlight). Major congrats, Kibra!!! We’re cheering you on all the way! 🖤
