That’s a wrap on Elk Hunt 2026 - pregnant wife + torn ACL A few major shoutouts: @thehuntsource is an absolute legend. We will forever stay connected and use him as a resource. His help was invaluable! (Ultimately… you just still have to be a good hunter 😅😅) Our @seekinsprecision_official Element Hunter was SO gangster. Whole video coming on that… it folded up and packed into my backpack side pocket. And it was SO light I’ll never, EVER hunt without @deadairsilencers for as long as I live. The Nomad LTI XC is so light and effective, even @frankymae419 shooting a 300 WINMAG was zero problem! (Hopefully next time we get to shoot an elk with it! Haha And Ted’s Rental and Sales down in Durango… the best guys. They fixed our generator on the spot for us… which was desperately needed bc it was COLD! More to follow in stories, and more hunts in the future 🩷

EASTERN OREGON MULE DEER | 471 YARDS 🦌🏔️ Day two of our hunt, and what a day it turned out to be! We hiked into some incredible Eastern Oregon backcountry before daylight, getting into position overlooking a massive canyon before the sun came up. As the morning came alive, we started picking apart the country with our glass. Before long, I spotted a few does feeding below us. We dropped our packs and slowly worked our way into a better position, hoping there might be more deer tucked below the cliff line. Sure enough, we found a buck! Once in position, I got settled in, made the necessary adjustments, and sent a round 471 yards downrange. Just like that, my Eastern Oregon mule deer tag was filled! After the shot, the buck rolled another 241 yards down the canyon. Six hours later, we finally had the deer back to the truck! A huge thank you to my dad for being there every step of the way and helping make this hunt a success. Couldn’t have done it without him! For this hunt, I was running my @christensenarms 6.5 PRC Extended Long Range (ELR), topped with a @leupoldoptics Mark 5HD 5-25x56, along with a few additional upgrades, including my @flatlineops level. It’s a setup I have a ton of confidence in and one I’ve been blessed to harvest numerous animals with over the past few years. More from this adventure once we wrap things up on the mountain! Zone C peeps…. It’s almost time! 🙏🦌🏹 My OG crossbow finally exploded after 6 seasons, so this is my first year deer hunting with my compound bow. I put it on the chronograph to see what I was working with… all I can say is “eeeeek 😬” 😂🏹 I’ve had this bear since I was 16 and I’ve put it through some crazy things through the years. Now it’s time to really put it to good use. I already have my target buck. Now I just need everything else to align. If you have any tips for my first season of hunting with a compound bow, drop a comment! I’m all ears! 🙌💬😯
