I was nominated for an award, specifically the Helios award by the Yuma art community!!

The Helios award shines on the newcomers who bring fresh light, energy, and brilliance to Yuma's arts community. And i am honored I got nominated and I can't wait to see all the other nominations!

This is such an achievement for me already and I am so excited!!

Thank you to everyone who has been with me this far !

Thank you @yumaartcenter for this amazing opportunity!

@thej00j0 is a traditional and digital artist based in fandom media and original media of his own. He has his own unique style similar to cartoons, and he loves to creat special pieces for people when they come over. He has been known in the community for doing personal sketches for 1$! He cannot wait to see everyone at the North End Art Walk before he moves to Flagstaff for NAU to continue his career of art education. Come out and support J00J0 and other local artists at this years North End Art Walk.

@Thej00j0 's Catalog!

Jojo / Vash is a local artist in the Yuma Area! He does pop up portraits and sells at local art events, he primiarly does a cartoon style with a rare occasion of realism. Currently studying at Arizona Western College for an Assosicates Studio Art, he plans to transfer to Northern Arizona University for a Bachelor's in Art Education!

Here's our interview with him 👇

Q: Are you a Beginner, Intermediate, Professional or a Hobbyist?

A: "I'm a Intermediate artist, meaning I'm doing it for school looking to go professional to be an art teacher! Right now im doing an Assosicates in Studio art at AWC then going to transfer to NAU, Flagstaff, for art education!"

Q: How do you put your art out there, selling, live art, online, etc?

A: "I primarily post my art but lately I have been doing portraits art for dogs and I want to do it with people as well. I've been selling at art shows for about 3 years now, North End Walk, Art in the Park, Smoke and Mirrors and smaller events as well."

Q: When did you start you art journey?

A: "I truely can't remember when Istarted, I've always liked to draw, ever since I was little. I can record it back to being in like 3rd - 4th grade though."

Q: Where do you see yourself in the future?

A: "I see myself teaching Highschool art in the next 5 years, as well as selling art myself and creating a small business to help other small artist sell."

Q: What is something your super passionate about right now?

A: "Right now I'm super passionate about my own original characters and their stories, as well as alot of old anime like Trigun : 1998 and Hellsing."

Q: Are you selling or have open commissions?

A: "I always have open commissions and I only sell in person at art shows which is more physical canvas art and prints !"

Q: Where can people find your art and buy your art?

A: "You can find my main art and ask about commissions on @thej00j0 and my art sketches on @theg00g0 , I haven't posted in awhile but I hopefully will soon!"
