This definitely wasn’t an easy decision to arrive at. After a lot of conversation, thinking, and praying, I’ve decided it’s time for me to hang up my jersey.

It’s not easy pivoting away from the game you’ve known your whole life. Basketball has been such a huge blessing in my life that I can’t even put into words how appreciative I am of this game. It changed my life and helped build me into the man I’m becoming. My journey was definitely a test of a man. Nothing was given to me. I worked for everything I got, but through all the blood, sweat, tears, pain, doubt, the good, the bad, and the ugly—I wouldn’t change a thing.

I never cheated the game. Nobody outworked me. I gave this game everything I had my heart, my passion, and more.

My hope is that somewhere throughout my journey, I inspired or impacted somebody whether younger or older than me to keep going despite what others may think, to do it your way, and to fall in love with your own personal journey.

I personally want to thank @kingjames . You’ve been a monumental inspiration in my life. Being that we share similar backgrounds you showed me that somebody from our city could become somebody, reach the highest level, and still use their platform to help and inspire others and be more than an athlete. Thank you for being great. Thank you for being you!

To every coach and teammate I’ve had along the way, thank you. Y’all are family. I built bonds through this game that I’ll take to my grave. Thank you for teaching me, pushing me, believing in me, and inspiring me. Y’all will forever have a special place in my heart.

Coach Dru once said, “Basketball is a vehicle.”

So this isn’t goodbye. It’s see you later.

I’m going to keep reaching for the stars.

The journey continues. 🐺💚
