thank you to the octet, thank you to my victor, and thank you to every mentor i’ve had along the way that inspired me to be unapologetic in my musicianship. while i’m technically the only one getting course credit for it, I think it’s incredibly wrong to refer to it as just “my recital.” this project demanded countless hours of writing, rehearsing, re-writing, and rehearsing some more. nothing about this process was easy (except MAYBE movement 3 of the song cycle), and we have all worked incredibly hard. this recital is the product of us pouring one unanimous detail into it: love.

I am deeply appreciative of my time as Papageno in The Magic Flute at the Moores Opera Center!! After finding out that I would perform for all the shows midway through the rehearsal process, it was quite the adjustment, but I learned so many invaluable lessons along the way. I’m so thankful for the support from my friends, family, and mentors.

This has been a spectacular journey and I am grateful for each and every person involved in this production. :)) See you again, Papageno 🦜
