‘Yup, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here…’ 🙃

This admittedly hilarious photo marks the start of what has been—and continues to be—a very long and painful journey.

Back in November, whilst gigging in Tenerife with a couple of buds, I took a nasty fall and completely shattered my right elbow.

I was in so much shock I had no idea how bad it was—just that something was very wrong. Those with me handled things incredibly, keeping me calm as I bit down on a soggy scrunchie and screamed through the MANY roundabouts en route to the hospital 😑

After a humbling Spanish A&E experience, arm in cast and sling, we flew home. I went straight to Stoke Mandeville, was triaged, admitted, and operated on 2 days later.

A 2 hour surgery became 6, involving 3 metal plates & 12 screws to piece me back together. I was told multiple times that its “one of the worst elbow breaks they’ve ever seen”. A strange badge of honour, but if I’m going to do something, I do it properly 🤷‍♂️ The surgeon was very proud, considering me some of his finest work (I’m basically the Mona Lisa, if Da Vinci worked in orthopaedics 😏).

I spent a few months in a sling, pushing through a hectic tour schedule and a premiere in December—all whilst looking like somebody gave a T-Rex a microphone.

Strong painkillers and losing independence was a rough combination. I had periods of feeling very low and completely useless. To everyone who checked in and supported me when I needed it most—you know who you are, and I can’t thank you enough 🫶🏻

I ditched the sling in Feb and began intense physio therapy. It’s likely to be a year long process, with no guarantees on what movement I’ll regain. Nevertheless, here I am: officially bionic, with a long road ahead of me. Progress is happening, and I’m doing everything I can to keep it that way. I’ve wallowed, I’ve taken stock, and now I can only move forward. Time to rebuild, recover, and get back to living 🦾

@_adam_whitmee_ @maxbowkerx @chelseajaydeee Thank you all 🙏❤️

“It’s just a dislocation, I’m sure of it…” — lying bastards 😂

What happens in Tenerife, stays in Tenerife…but I guess some things are harder to leave there than others 😬🦾
