So privileged to have 6 amazing people join Team Breakaway this past September to attend our final scouting trip for the 2025 Last Grizzly Gravel Stage Race. Our team always performs a final inspection exactly one year prior to launching a new event to get a good feel for road characteristics, average weather patterns, traffic volumes and in this case livestock drives (encountered one sheep drive). Our team of riders were made up of pros and amateurs who have great in-site and feedback. Stay tuned for some of their comments and reviews of the courses. Thanks Carl, Jesse, Michael, Claire, Alison, and Garrett for all your help! #gravelscouting ##lastgrizzlygravel #utahgravel

In September we did some course scouting and review with 6 amazing athletes to capture images and get their input. The vote was unanimous. The Last Grizzly Gravel is going to be off the charts. Rolling through Northern Utah and Southern Idaho at the peak of fall colors only elevates the scenery and beauty the region has to offer! #lastgrizzlygravel #graveladventure #breakawaypromotions #rideutah

The third and final day of our 2024 scouting trip for next year's Last Grizzly Gravel was incredible. Unfortunately the pictures and video we captured do not even come close to showcasing the amazing beauty this course holds. Miles of golden aspens, dark green spruce trees, and blazing red maples provide a full kaleidoscope of colors that put your head on a swivel. We almost feel sorry for those who are going to flat out race this event. They truly miss the best aspects of what the Last Grizzly Gravel hold. Stay tuned for more pictures, video and info in the weeks and months to come as well as how you can be a part of this amazing event September 19-21st, 2025! #Lastgrizzlygravel #gravelstagerace #graveladventures #teambreakaway #utahgravel #travelutah

Scouting stage 2 for next year's Last Grizzly Gravel showed us a glimpse of the amazing diversity the state of Utah has. From arid desert and sagebrush to high alpine forests all encompassed in a single day of riding just blows our minds. So do the fall colors in September. The aspens are stunning. We can't wait to share this experience with all of our gravel friends in 2025! #utahgravel #gravelstagerace #lastgrizzlygravel #gravelcamp #teambreakaway

I felt like IM Cali was a hometown race with all the people I knew in course. Thanks for all the cheers from the amazing people I’ve met here over the years through this crazy sport! You learn something about yourself every time you go that deep and I learned a lot yesterday. Thanks again to the squad for standing in the pouring rain to watch me exercise for 9 hours ans 6 min 😂

What a way to end my post-surgery mini-season 🥉🙌🏽
.
🏊‍♀️ Didn’t have the swim I’m capable of and the elastic snapped early from the lead pack. I ended up swimming alone in the chop. After sitting on Anne Haug’s feet in my last swim, I really wanted more…work forever in progress!
.
🚴‍♀️ I was very anxious about the bike. I started having leg pain in the aero position just a few days ago and it really threw me for a big mental loop 😕. Surprisingly, although my foot was sleepy, my leg felt totally fine pain wise 😇 I had great legs but the lack of training in aero held me back. Just like it did on the road bike, I know it’s going to take a long time to adapt to the position without bad sensations and build power back.
.
🏃‍♀️ Just when I thought I was destined for a mediocre day, I had the run legs of my life (maybe becuase they were saved from the bike but still…) The course was far from flat with steep hilly cobbles, off-road dirt and gravel, technical twisty back streets, mega steep downhills, headwind sections, and everything in between. I executed exactly to plan and ran myself onto the podium 🥳
.
Thanks to my mega team for getting me this far (there are too many of you amazing people to list) 🥰. It’s been a 5 year slog and today we finally took a big step forward 🙏
.
Thanks to @ibizatriatlon— incredible event! 😘
