Mo Bunnell and Shawn Blanc host my favorite mastermind. They’ve assembled an eclectic mix of internet entrepreneurs, authors, coaches, and creators. The common thread is all invitees must be “net givers” — they contribute more than they consume. I arrive with questions and leave with answers. Some highlights were Michael Bungay Stanier leading a journaling exercise. My hot seat group where we explore legacy, grief and practical matters like finding more keynotes. I got to lead a session on book writing and launching with my buddy, Tim. And I got to learn about audience building from Sam, Justin and Chennel. And, yes, that’s me dancing with Tyler Shuffle Mamas! 😂 Grateful for me time in Atlanta. Already looking forward to the next MashUp Mastermind.

Validate the niche before you build the product. Spend one week answering questions in your niche’s communities for free. This helps you test niche validation, market demand, and audience problems before investing time in a digital product. If you run out of patience before you run out of demand, you may be in the wrong niche. Save this for your next business idea.

Selling digital products is a documentation business disguised as a creator business. Document your process as you build, launch, and sell your product—and you’ll never run out of content. Comment “DOCUMENT” and I’ll show you how I batch it all in one sitting.

If you wouldn’t buy your own product, don’t blame the marketing. Fix the product or the price first. Great marketing can amplify a strong offer, but it can’t outrun a weak one forever. Before spending more on marketing, make sure you’d confidently pay the price yourself. Reply “FIX” for a quick offer audit.

Someone told me @thejustinwelsh knows more about LinkedIn than you do. Why should I trust you?"

Fair point. So I did a deal to bring his LinkedIn Operating System into what I offer. Problem solved.

When someone gives you an objection, you've got two choices. Solve it, or have a bloody good answer for why it isn't a problem.
What you don't do is get defensive and spend six months trying to prove you're the cleverest person in the room.

Your ego doesn't need to win. The sale does.
Can you remove the problem? Answer it? Bring in something that solves it better than you can? If yes, do that.

Objections get a lot less scary when you've already handled them before the prospect even opens their mouth.

Your DMs are a sales channel, not a popularity contest. Stop obsessing over followers and start tracking conversations that mention your offer by name. Attention feels good, but conversations create opportunities. Measure the activity that actually moves people toward a sale. Comment “CONVO” for how I track this weekly.

The wrong buyer can ruin a great digital product. A clear “who this is NOT for” line helps attract the right customers and set realistic expectations. Otherwise, buyers may expect solutions you never promised—and leave bad reviews when your product doesn’t solve problems it was never designed to solve.
