POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Despite the barriers to entry, Black storytelling has a profound and unquantifiable impact on us, Hollywood and the world. This Black History Month, we celebrate and validate the dreams of every young Black actor, director and writer.

“Black Girl Magic” is a piercing, beautiful, and much needed call to let black girls be just that- girls filled with hope, wonder and magic. This spoken word short film, brought to you by @thekaeking the writer/performer of the @laliff_ award winning short, “In Case I’m Next”, celebrates and seeks to validate the dreams of black girls in hopes of a day where it doesn’t take a magic wand to fulfill them.

Directed by @thedereknguyen and produced by @kenzo.dp @crimsonedgecreative

In remembrance of what would be Trayvon’s 27th birthday today if his life hadn’t been taken by police brutality. Some words from our spoken word poem “In Case I’m Next” - distributed now with @bronstudios - We’re thankful for BRON for what you do in empowering black cinema, and partnering with us for messages like these!

My heart is full today with all the Friday feels! 💕😎

I spent the day yesterday meeting up with some of my favorite @clubhouse folks! In the spirit of Korean culture, I’m experiencing the jeong (정) all the way around filling my cup with joy and gratitude. 🥰 Jeong is an emotional experience of affection, attachment, connection, fondness..to name a few. ❤️

This extrovert is rejuvenated and refreshed after an extremely busy year and thank you to @clubhouse and organizations like @thecouncilka for bringing us together. ☺️

This therapist got the therapy she needed! 🤗 The quality of your relationships is key to happiness. Let’s continue investing in those we connect with who empower and encourage us!

My 1st ever LALIFF is in the can and what an absolute ride it was!! I’m so honored to work with such a powerful organization that elevates Latino/x voices and is truly doing THE WORK for our community!! …seriously google: Latino Film Institute and you’ll see!!👀

I felt all of the things this week but the most poignant emotions have been gratitude and just sheer AWE in the power and beauty of my community. We are not a monolith and ALL of our stories, in their brilliant complexities, deserve to be told. As shared by my new pal, “YOU’RE EITHER IN OR IN THE WAY.” Get innn, my babies, we’re changing the frickin game!!
