🕊️💭 You can have all the money in the world and still not have peace.

For our final reel featuring Charinus Johnson Davis, President and CEO of the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce, I asked her to leave our viewers with one nugget of wisdom. Something that could transcend time and stay with people long after our conversation.

Her answer was simple, yet powerful.

“Choose peace over wealth.” ❤️

There’s nothing wrong with financial success. We all work hard to build a better life for ourselves and our families. But as Charinus shared, wealth doesn’t necessarily bring peace.

And the older we get, the more we begin to appreciate just how valuable that peace really is. 🙏🏽

What brings you peace may look completely different from what brings someone else peace. But one thing remains true: You can have everything money can buy and still be missing something money can’t provide.

💎 A powerful reminder that success isn’t always measured by what we accumulate, but sometimes by what we no longer allow to disturb us.

🎙️ And with that, we officially close out another episode of Lunch with Leo, Conversations Behind Success!

A heartfelt thank you to Charinus for sharing her journey, her perspective, and a little of the person behind the title. It’s been a pleasure having you at the table! 👏🏽❤️

🚀 Next week, we welcome another guest with another story worth sharing!

🎙️ What makes a Chamber of Commerce truly valuable? And how do you know if it’s the right fit for your business? 🤔💼

In this next reel from Lunch with Leo, Conversations Behind Success, I asked Charinus Johnson Davis, President and CEO of the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce, what a well-run Chamber should mean to its members, its business community, and those considering joining.

Her answer started with something simple but powerful: THE PEOPLE! 🙌🏽

Not every Chamber is going to be the right fit for every business, and that’s okay!

It’s about finding a place where you feel welcomed, where relationships happen naturally, and where you genuinely feel like you’re part of something bigger than yourself. 🤝🏽🏡

Because membership shouldn’t just be about having your business listed in a directory or attending another networking event. It’s about finding your community, building meaningful connections, and knowing you have a seat at the table.

But there’s another important piece to the equation. 👀

A strong Chamber needs a committed Board, effective leadership, and most importantly, the willingness to LISTEN to its members. 👂🏽

After all, an organization can have the best programming, events, and resources in the world, but if it isn’t listening to the people it serves, what’s the point?

💡 The real value of a Chamber isn’t just what it offers. It’s how it makes you feel, who it connects you with, and whether your voice matters.

🎙️ What are you building today that you’re most excited about?

That was one of Leo’s Five questions I asked Charinus Johnson Davis, President and CEO of the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Her answer wasn’t about personal accomplishments, titles, or recognition.

It was about LEGACY. ❤️

Coral Springs and Coconut Creek are experiencing tremendous growth, and with that growth comes an opportunity to shape what our communities will look like for generations to come.

For Charinus, it’s about leaving our business community stronger than she found it, while creating more opportunities for our young people than many of us had growing up.

Whether it’s becoming an entrepreneur, learning a trade, or discovering a career path they never imagined, every opportunity we create today has the potential to change someone’s tomorrow. 🙌🏽

But times are changing, and she understands that leadership means evolving with them. We can’t continue doing things the same way and expect to meet the needs of the next generation.

And perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of building a legacy is being able to look back someday, see the difference you’ve made, and quietly say, “I did that.” 💙

🎙️ Some people discover their purpose. Others seem to be born with it. ❤️

In this next reel from Lunch with Leo, Conversations Behind Success, I asked Charinus Johnson Davis when and how giving back to our youth became such an important part of not only her career, but her life.

Her answer? She believes it’s always been part of who she is.

From an early age, she was taught the importance of standing up for others, advocating for those who need a voice, and helping create opportunities so everyone has a fair chance to succeed. 🙌🏽

Throughout her nearly 30 years in the nonprofit world, that passion continued to grow. But what really fueled her desire to keep going wasn’t just the work itself. It was seeing the results.

Imagine being at the grocery store and having someone approach you years later, someone whose life you helped impact as a child. Seeing how far they’ve come, what they’ve accomplished, and knowing you played even a small role in their journey.

Those are the moments that remind you why the work matters. 💙

And sometimes, the greatest reward for giving back is simply seeing someone else move forward.

🎙️ One of Leo’s Five.

I asked Charinus Johnson Davis to tell me about a time when life wasn’t going according to plan.

Her answer: breast cancer.

At just 36 years old, life was good. Her career was thriving, she was enjoying where she was, and then a diagnosis she never expected changed everything.

Not just her circumstances, but her perspective.

“You never get your old life back. You get a new life.”

And in that new life, Charinus learned to focus more on what truly matters and spend less energy on the things that don’t. ❤️

That perspective also led us into a conversation about the composure she carries into leadership. Early in her career, a mentor helped her understand that navigating certain spaces would require discipline, self awareness, and sometimes working even harder to earn her place.

At the time, she may not have fully understood the lesson. Years later, she recognizes how much it helped shape the leader she became.

Sometimes the moments we never planned for completely change how we see life, how we show up, and what we choose to value. 🙏🏽

🎙️ This week on Lunch with Leo, Conversations Behind Success, I sit down with Charinus Johnson Davis, President and CEO of the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Before joining the Chamber, Charinus spent seven years with the Dan Marino Foundation. Her journey there began with nearly two years as a consultant, helping develop the Foundation’s campus, before eventually rising to COO.

She was part of major initiatives, including the Marino Walk for Autism, and while raising money was important, what impacted her most went far beyond fundraising. ❤️

It was helping young people become employable. Helping them develop their skills. Helping them find jobs. And ultimately, helping create opportunities that could shape their careers and their futures. 🙌🏽💼

That kind of impact stays with you.

👀 Here’s a sneak peek at our conversation.

🎥 Another episode of Lunch with Leo: Conversations Behind Success is in the books, and this one was special.

Today I had the pleasure of sitting down with Chef Bruno Silva, owner of Livello One in Coral Springs and someone I’ve had the privilege of knowing for over a decade.

We first met years ago at Tavolino’s, and I’ve watched Bruno continue to evolve, create, and build his reputation through a genuine love for his craft. No culinary school. Humble beginnings in Brazil. Years spent learning inside Italian kitchens. And a belief that has stayed with him throughout his journey: a chef should always be creating. 👨‍🍳🔥

But this conversation went far beyond food.

We talked about the people who gave him opportunities and inspired him, his journey from Rio de Janeiro to the United States, the sacrifices along the way, and what he ultimately hopes people remember about Bruno Silva the man, not just Bruno Silva the chef. ❤️

And years ago, Bruno gave me a phrase that I’ve carried into my own life:

“Proper preparation prevents poor performance.”

Simple. Powerful. And very Bruno.

There’s brilliance in what this man creates in the kitchen, but there’s an even better story behind the chef. I’m excited for you guys to hear this one.

Coming soon on Lunch with Leo: Conversations Behind Success. 🎙️🍽️
