Somewhere between the forest floor and the edge of a forgotten kingdom, you'll find me wondering why I ever thought ordinary outfits were enough. 🌿⚔️

Give me ancient forests, mysterious kingdoms, a little silver armor, and a sword that looks like it belongs in an epic fantasy series, and suddenly I'm ready to abandon all my responsibilities and go questing.

This is what I love about fantasy-inspired fashion. It's not just about putting on a beautiful outfit. It's about getting to play with a different version of yourself—to experiment with the characters, worlds, and aesthetics that have lived in your imagination while you've been turning pages late into the night.

For this Valkyrie shoot at Faeclub Retreat, we went for a darker, more battle-ready look. And honestly? I think I may have discovered a new favorite side of my fantasy wardrobe.

Although I reserve the right to complain about the practicalities of wearing armor while still insisting that I look absolutely epic. 😂

The final images from this shoot by Krios Media are here, and I'm so excited to finally share them with you!

If you could step into any fantasy role for a day, would you be a warrior, a queen, a fae, or something else entirely? Tell me your character class below. 🐉✨

*She had no intention of being the damsel in distress.*

She had kingdoms to protect, battles to win, and absolutely no patience for anyone who mistook her silence for weakness. ⚔️

There's a particular kind of fantasy heroine I will always root for: the woman who knows exactly what she's capable of, even when the rest of the world hasn't caught up yet.

She's not fearless. She simply knows there are things worth being brave for.

She's not waiting for a prophecy to tell her who she is. She's busy writing her own legend.

And she certainly isn't putting the sword down just because someone thinks it doesn't belong in her hands.

This Valkyrie-inspired look at Faeclub Retreat was my chance to channel that energy, and this photograph captures the fiercer side of the character beautifully. The armor, the markings, the sword, the forest—it feels like the moment before the first chapter of an epic battle.

You know the kind of book. The one where you tell yourself you'll read just one more chapter, and suddenly it's 2 a.m. and you're emotionally invested in a fictional war. 📚😂

If this warrior belonged in a fantasy novel, what would her story be called?

I'm taking title suggestions. 👑

Some queens wear crowns. Others wear armor. ⚔️👑

And some decide they would rather be the ones wielding the sword than waiting for someone else to fight their battles.

I've always been drawn to the women in fantasy who refuse to be confined to a single role. The queens who can command a room, the warriors who can hold their own on the battlefield, and the heroines who don't need rescuing to have a story worth telling.

For this Valkyrie-inspired shoot at Faeclub Retreat, I got to step into that world for a little while. Silver armor, a sword, a forest backdrop, and just enough warrior energy to make me wonder whether I should be returning to my TBR or preparing for battle.

Honestly, why not both? My reading list is practically a battlefield already. 😂📚

The professional photos are finally here, and I couldn't be happier with how this look came together. Here's to embracing every side of ourselves—even the ones that come with a sword.

Now tell me: are you choosing the crown or the sword? 👑⚔️

“Never mistake a quiet woman for a harmless one.”

There's something about a fantasy heroine with a sword that will always have my attention. Maybe it's the confidence, maybe it's the determination, or maybe it's the fact that the women who carry the best stories are often the ones who refuse to let someone else write their ending.

For this Valkyrie-inspired look, I wanted something a little darker. Silver armor, battle markings, braided hair, and a sword that looks like it has a story of its own.

And yes, the sword literally says *Valkyrie*. I appreciate a prop that understands the assignment. 😂⚔️

One of my favorite things about fantasy is how many different kinds of power exist within its pages. The power to rule. The power to protect. The power to survive. And the power to decide that your story isn't over just because someone else thinks it should be.

I'm not sure what this warrior's story would be, but I have a feeling she wouldn't be waiting around for permission to begin it.

Would you read a book about her? And more importantly, what would you name her? 👑
